Sylvester Stallone Confirms ‘Tulsa King’ Season 3 Wraps—With a Major Surprise for Fans

“Tulsa King” star Sylvester Stallone will return later this year as Dwight “The General” Manfredi in season 3 of Taylor Sheridan’s crime drama. Production has wrapped, and the release window for the new season on Paramount+ is in December 2025. With the show’s return still being months away, Stallone’s recent announcement about “Tulsa King” came as quite the surprise.

Season 3 of ‘Tulsa King’ Will Likely End On a Cliffhanger

“Tulsa King” follows Stallone’s Manfredi after he was released from prison and exiled from New York City. The mafia man is now in Tulsa attempting to build a new criminal empire, and both seasons 1 and 2 have ended with cliffhangers.

When season 1 came to a close, Dwight was arrested for the attempted bribery of FBI Agent Stacey Beale (Andrea Savage). When season 2 ended, a shadowy figure was kidnapping Dwight in the middle of the night. He took him to an unknown location and told him, “You work for us now.”

The bribery story was eventually wrapped up, but we still don’t know who took Dwight. And that season 2 ending set the expectation that every season will end on a cliffhanger until the series ends.

We don’t know what that will happen in season 3 or what that finale will look like. But, with an unknown organization supposedly taking control of Dwight, many questions about territories and new players will have to be addressed. Will he cooperate? Will he undermine the rising powers? Could he actually go legit?

Sylvester Stallone Makes A Surprising Announcement

Stallone, 78, made a surprise announcement in an Instagram post that included a Sheridan-produced video from the “Tulsa King” set. Not only did he reveal it was the last day of filming for season 3, he also said he wants to return for seasons 4 and 5.

Stallone says in the video that it is the last day of filming “Tulsa King” season 3, and “all good things must come to an end.” He added that they are “really happy with the show this season” and there will be lots of surprises.

“What is going to be amazing is next year, we’re going to be cranking up and going places unknown. So we’re going to try and create a lot of new surprises and interest in the show,” he says.

In the caption of the post he wrote, “Last day in Tulsa! I want to give a huge shout out to the incredible cast and crew that have made this show into what is it today. Can’t wait for everyone to see what’s in store for season 3 🥊 we will start filming season four very soon and hopefully after that season five!”

Paramount+ Has Not Confirmed Season 4 of ‘Tulsa King’

Despite Stallone promising that season 4 would begin filming “very soon,” streamer Paramount+ has not made an official announcement. However, it’s a pretty safe bet that the show still has multiple seasons coming. This is another reason to believe that season 3 will end on a cliffhanger.

However, the show definitely needs to be careful if this is the plan. Things can change, especially with the pending merger of Paramount Global and Skydance Media. They don’t want to make a mistake like “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and end the series on a cliffhanger. A finale like that is risky without a guarantee of renewal.

The first two seasons of “Tulsa King” are now streaming on Paramount+.
