“1000-Lb Sisters” star Tammy Slaton is putting rumors to rest on if she is vaping again post skin removal surgery.
After a TikTok video circulated on Saturday, June 7, showing off her impressive transformation post surgery, fans began to notice the TLC star was also seen vaping.
Slaton ended up taking to her Instagram story on Tuesday, June 10 to address the rumors.
“Everyone freaking out about me vaping, it’s non nicotine,” she began.
Slaton added it’s been a long time since she last had nicotine.
“I haven’t smoked nicotine in a year [shaking my head],” she added. “Everybody always got something to say about everything but themselves. It’s ridiculous.”
Slaton Previously Struggled with Quitting Vaping
In one of the season six episodes that aired in December 2024, Slaton received the news she would be able to received skin removal surgery.
However, Slaton revealed she was hiding that she was vaping from her doctors and ended up telling them.
“I mainly use it for anxiety. It helps calm me down,” she bravely told her medical team. In a voice over, she added she was vaping “every day, several times a day.”
The doctor told Slaton that vaping has the potential to hinder the healing process post surgery and getting off of vapes was now her number one goal.
Slaton was clearly successful as she received the skin removal surgery.
Fans Show Their Support After Her Skin Removal Surgery
Fans of the show quickly took to social media to express their happiness for Slaton after Tuesday’s season seven finale showed her receiving the surgery.
“[W]e are so proud of you Tammy! All your hard work is being paid off. You deserve this queen❤️❤️❤️🙌,” one user wrote.
Another added, “proud of u love ya !! congrats u looks so beautiful.”
The well wishes only continued.
“She looks so beautiful! She did before but we all know this is a big accomplishment for her, we’re so proud of you tammy!!” another expressed.
Slaton was worried prior to surgery, but was looking forward to not having the additional skin.
“Just really the pain and then my fear of how I’m going to look [when] looking at myself afterwards,” Tammy said while speaking with her family. “I’m so used to seeing all this hanging [from] my arms and now when I wake up Sunday or Saturday, I’m not going to have this anymore.”
Slaton added, “I’m going to look halfway normal from [the] face down. It’s scary but rewarding at the same time.”
