“Counting On” star Joy-Anna Duggar opens up about her family’s reality show. For years, fans watched Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar raise their 19 children, often amazed by the family’s unique dynamics.
However, some viewers are curious if parts of the show were scripted, and now, Joy-Anna is setting the record straight in her latest Q&A.
‘Counting On’ Star Joy-Anna Duggar Reveals Whether the Show is Scripted
@joy4site/InstagramLast week, Joy-Anna treated fans with a Q&A session on her Instagram Stories, where she addressed rumors about whether their reality show was scripted.
According to the “Counting On” star, one of the things she loves about her parents is that their family life was the same on and off camera. Then, Joy-Anna admitted that part of the show is somewhat scripted.
“Early on filming, the show wasn’t planned out,” Joy-Anna responded to a fan. “They would just show up and film whatever we had planned that day.”
She continued:
“But as it went on, we had to be more creative, because it would’ve been just repetitive. So that part of it was planned out in advance.”
So far, no word on whether “Counting On” and the Duggars will make a comeback soon. TLC cut ties with the family following Josh Duggar’s arrest in 2021.
“TLC will not be producing additional seasons of ‘Counting On’,” the cable network told E! News in 2021. “TLC feels it is important to give the Duggar family the opportunity to address their situation privately.”
Joy-Anna Thinks Being Filmed Every Day Was Weird
Joy-Anna also shared her thoughts about being filmed almost every day when she was younger. The “Counting On” star admitted she finds it “weird” thinking about it now.
“It’s weird when I stop and think about it,” Joy-Anna answered during her IG Q&A. “Most days I’m just doing my normal life & don’t think about it. It almost seems like it was a whole other life.”
Despite the show not being on, Joy-Anna still keeps fans updated through social media. The “Counting On” star is quite active in sharing life updates on Instagram.
Recently, she gave fans a glimpse into a day in their farm life. Joy-Anna is also documenting her family’s camping trips and recording podcast episodes with her sister, Jinger Duggar.
“Counting On” debuted in 2015 as a spinoff of “19 Kids and Counting.”
