The Super Bowl 2025 halftime show promises to deliver an entertaining performance from Grammy Award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar, who is headlining the show. Find out what’s planned for the Super Bowl LIX halftime show.
Kendrick Lamar Will Headline the Super Bowl 2025 Halftime Show With a Special Guest
The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles go head to head for the second time in three years at Super Bowl LIX. While football fans are eager to see who will emerge the victor, many viewers are looking forward to the halftime show.
Kendrick Lamar will headline the big show — and it’s not his first time performing at the Super Bowl. He previously appeared during the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show, alongside Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and Mary J. Blige.
The rapper just won five Grammys for Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, Song of the Year, Best Music Video, and Record of the Year for his Drake diss track “Not Like Us.”
Lamar will be the main attraction this time around at the Super Bowl, but will have a little help from another music superstar.
R&B artist SZA will join Lamar at the show as a special guest. The two collaborated on the Oscar-nominated song “All the Stars” from the “Black Panther” soundtrack and “Luther” from Lamar’s album “GNX.”
Lamar and SZA are also co-headlining a 19-city tour this spring and summer. The Grand National Tour kicks off in Minneapolis on April 19 and ends in Washington, D.C. on June 18.
So far, no other artists have been confirmed to appear during the halftime show, but that doesn’t mean some surprise guests won’t perform.
During a February interview with Apple Music‘s Ebro Darden and Nadeska Alexis, Lamar was asked about his approach to the halftime show, as he only has 13 minutes to perform.
“I love being present … it’s very hard for me to live in the past. I respect the past wholeheartedly but being in the now and being just locked in to how I feel and the energy I have now … that’s something that I want to carry over to New Orleans and for the world to see,” he explained.
“This is me … 37-years-old and I still feel like I’m elevating, I’m still on the journey. And I want that energy to ooze out of the television,” Lamar added.
Other Super Bowl 2025 Performers Include Post Malone, Jon Batiste
The Super Bowl 2025 halftime show may be the main performance, but there will be several other musical moments surrounding the sporting event.
Post Malone will headline the YouTube Tailgate Concert, which starts at 4 p.m. ET. Watch the Tailgate Concert live on YouTube.
Grammy winner Jon Batiste will perform the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Ledisi is performing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” while Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle will perform “America the Beautiful” ahead of the Super Bowl kickoff.
