Super Bowl 2025 headliner Kendrick Lamar is not married and has never had a wife, but he does have a fiancee named Whitney Alford.
According to People, Lamar has been “linked to his fiancée, Whitney Alford for decades.”
They’ve dated since they were teenagers, and have daughter Uzi and son Enoch together, according to People, which noted that they attended high school together in Compton, California. Vogue describes Alford as Lamar’s “longtime partner.”
In 2015, Lamar told Power 105.1 that he had proposed to Alford, according to People. The video of the interview has since been removed from YouTube.
“Yeah, definitely,” he said in it, according to People. “I’m loyal to the soul.”
“Everybody that’s been around me has been around since Day 1 and I can’t change that. I don’t change for nobody, People that have been by your side — you’re supposed to honor that,” he also told the radio station, People reported.

Alford frequently posts about her family on Instagram. “Me and them… Always, in all ways. The greatest and toughest job I’ve ever been tasked with. Love my babies 🩶” she wrote alongside a photo showing her with her two kids.
On Father’s Day 2022, she wrote, “Today I am more than happy to celebrate the men in my life…I choose to celebrate them for stepping up instead of stepping out, for providing, for assisting us women, for healing, for showing up physically and most importantly for showing up emotionally.”
“In my life I’ve witnessed a great majority of father’s run from their responsibilities. I now understand that they were running from their own pain but children were left behind,” she wrote. “I understand they couldn’t properly communicate with women so kids suffered the consequence of their absence. I understand they needed validation and most times it was sought after outside of the home. And it was quite painful for all of us who knew this upbringing.”
In May 2022, she referenced Lamar’s album and wrote, “Sometimes the mirror is a harsh critic. Shit can get real ugly. Im proud of the work we’ve done individually and as a family. Honored to be a part of this album @kendricklamar. Thank you for your transparency. Healing can begin….”
According to Vogue, Alford had a cameo in Lamar’s video.
Lamar has very few posts on his own Instagram page.
Kendrick Lamar Has Praised Whitney Alford in Interviews
GettyLamar has generally kept his private life to himself.
However, he told The New York Times of Alford: “She’s been here since Day 1.”
In 2015, he opened up about Alford to Billboard.
“He rarely is seen in the clubs, he doesn’t drink a lot or smoke weed, and he has been with his girlfriend, Whitney Alford, since they were both in high school. (She’s also in her late 20s,)” Billboard reported then.
Billboard noted that she accompanied Lamar to the Grammys and jokingly called him “cheap” in front of a reporter.
“I wouldn’t even call her my girl,” he told Billboard. “That’s my best friend. I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion — she’s somebody I can tell my fears to.”
