Travis Kelce Reveals How Taylor Swift Made Super Bowl Loss ‘a Little Easier’

Travis Kelce found out you can’t win them all when the Chiefs lost the 2025 Super Bowl. Taylor Swift was there to take the sting out of the loss, however. Kelce shared how his girlfriend made things “easier” after the defeat and revealed what’s next for him.

Travis Kelce Shares What Helped Him Through the Devastating Loss

The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl on February 9 and, understandably, it was a tough outcome for Kelce and his teammates.

During the February 12 episode of the “New Heights” podcast that Kelce co-hosts with his brother Jason, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end shed some light on the support he had after the loss.

He credited Swift, family, and friends for helping him “find a way to get through something really, really tough,” saying their post-game support “definitely made it a little easier.”

Kelce shared, “The biggest thing is that, after the game, I still had over 50-something plus of my best friends and my family and my loved ones and everybody that has supported me throughout my life was there to at least make it not feel like the worst day of my life.”

He admitted the “reality is gonna suck here for quite a while,” adding, “It’s just life, man. It’s life.”

A source told Page Six that Swift was supportive of Kelce and that the two have some downtime ahead of them. “Taylor knows Travis took this loss very hard but she couldn’t be more proud of him regardless of the outcome,” the source shared.

As for what’s next for the couple, the insider said they “are looking forward to enjoying some downtime.”

The source explained, “They knew that Taylor’s Eras Tour would be wrapping in December and football season would be coming to an end now so they had planned for this time to focus on some alone time to just be together.”

They added, “Taylor and Travis are going to take some time away to vacation with just the two of them, talk about their future and just relax.”

Is Travis Kelce Planning to Retire?

Kelce also addressed his plans for next season. “I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year, and right now, I’m just kicking everything down the road,” he said. “I’m not making any crazy decisions.”

He shared that the “biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches and “understanding.”

“There’s a lot that goes into this thing, you know?” he said.

The football star called the Super Bowl loss “a tough pill to swallow,” but said he’s thankful for the support.

“I have a beautiful life. I have loved ones, I have the most amazing family in the world that supports me in everything that I do,” Kelce said. “They were all there, cheering me on and hoping for the best on Sunday.”

He noted, “I’m gonna take some time to figure it out. And, I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back, it’s a wholehearted decision. I’m not half-assing it, and I’m fully here for them.”

“I think I can play, it’s just whether or not I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a person to take on all that responsibility,” Kelce added.

His brother responded, “You’re preaching to the choir, brother. It sucks when you get to this point in the career where it becomes harder and harder to do it.”
