With “The Voice” set to return for season 28 this fall, many hopeful contestants are wondering if it’s too late to get their audition tapes in for 2025 and 2026. Some recent news is making it seem like any singers wanting to be a contestant on the hit NBC singing competition might be looking at fall 2026 as the next chance to get on the show.
How to Audition for ‘The Voice’
If you are a singing hopeful and want to get your chance to possibly be coached by one of the show’s celebrity judges, then it’s as easy as signing up for a virtual open call audition.
Per the official NBC casting page, any “Voice” hopefuls must first create an artist account. Once signed into your account, then click/tap on the virtual open call.
Possible contestants can then select a day and time for their audition. You will then receive an email confirming the date and time of your VOC, as well as an email reminder 24 hours before your audition.
When Will These Auditions Air?
For “The Voice,” the auditioning process is very long. As season 27 runner-up Jaelen Johnston recently discussed, he competed on “The Voice” for almost two years from his initial VOC to make it to the finale.
NBC previously announced that Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire would be serving as the coaches for season 28. They also announced that the season 28 Blind Auditions would be taped on July 6, 7, 8, and 9.
While NBC hasn’t released any details on when season 29 will air or who the coaches will be, their ticket manager iota has released tickets for fans to attend tapings of the season 29 Blind Auditions, which are being held in Universal City, California, at “The Voice” soundstage. The free tickets are available for show tapings on July 21, 22, and 23.
That means NBC most likely has contestants in place and they have gone through these virtual open call auditions and are ready to move onto the Blind Auditions in front of the coaches. Because of that, anyone who participates in a VOC right now will most likely not make it through the whole process in time for the season 28 or season 29 Blind Auditions tapings. That means they will be pushed back to season 30, which would air in the fall of 2026.
Despite that long delay, keep in mind season 30 of “The Voice” most likely will air in the fall of 2026 and NBC should be hyping up the 30th season of the show and it might be worth the wait.
