If there’s one thing Swifties know for sure, it’s that Taylor Swift doesn’t do anything by accident. From cryptic Instagram captions to red carpet accessories, the pop superstar is known for leaving breadcrumbs for her fans. The latest trail leads straight to “TS12,” which is quickly becoming one of the internet’s favorite mysteries.

What Is the Taylor Swift “TS12” Trend and Why Is It Blowing Up Now?

The phrase “TS12” refers to Swift’s rumored twelfth studio album, which she has yet to officially announce. But fans are convinced it’s on the way. The speculation ramped up recently thanks to several sneaky Easter eggs, including a curious quote in Swift’s letter to fans about reclaiming her masters.

In the letter, the 35-year-old singer wrote she was “thiiiiiiiiiiiis close.” Of course, Swifties counted the I’s. There were exactly 12, which many believe points directly to “TS12.” But that wasn’t the only time fans got suspicious. She also used 12 D’s in an Instagram story hyping Selena Gomez’s latest album, and wore earrings with 12 red gemstones at the 2025 Grammys.

“Taylor knows we notice these things. That’s the fun of it,” one fan tweeted. “There’s no way that many 12s are a coincidence.”

Aside from fan observations, there’s also some more official-sounding evidence. In an interview with Universal Music Sweden, producer Jacob Criborn casually mentioned he was “finishing Taylor Swift’s album.” This led to fans believing that he let “TS12” slip months ahead of schedule.

Then there’s the logo. Swift’s master’s announcement letter featured a brand-new “TS” logo, ditching the font from “The Tortured Poets Department” era. With a sleek, art deco-inspired look, some believe the logo hints at a new creative direction and a fresh musical chapter.

TS12 vs. Taylor’s Versions: What’s Releasing First?

Many fans expected “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” to be next. But her letter may have hinted otherwise. She reportedly abandoned that re-recording after only finishing a quarter of it because she couldn’t recreate the raw energy of the original. However, she did promise that unreleased vault tracks from that era will still come out eventually.

Meanwhile, per Yahoo, she confirmed that “Debut (Taylor’s Version)” is finished and sounds fresh and reimagined. But still, no release date.

All of this fuels the theory that Swift is prioritizing TS12, an entirely new album, before releasing her final re-recordings. The global pop star remains quiet about what’s coming next, but the clues are stacking up faster than Swifties can decode them.
