Let the countdown begin! Fans of “The Voice” have less than two months before season 28 of the talent competition premieres.
NBC announced on July 28, 2025, that the new season — with coaches Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, and Michael Bublé — will premiere on September 22. To celebrate, the network dropped a new promo with the coaches goofing around backstage as they filmed their blind auditions in early July.
“Aw, it’s good to be back,” Horan smiled in the behind-the-scenes video, adding, “I can’t believe I get to do this again.”
Reba McEntire Said of Niall Horan: ‘I Love Him’
“‘The Voice’ is in production right now,” Horan began the promo, and was seen hugging McEntire and Bublé backstage.
Horan first appeared on “The Voice” in the spring of 2023, winning season 23 with singer Gina Miles. He returned for season 24 that fall, which he also won with team member Huntley. During season 24, the former One Direction bandmate coached alongside McEntire, who was as smitten with him as his millions of fans are.
She said during the season, “If I had a daughter, I would want her to marry him! Oh my gosh, I love him.”
But in the new promo, Bublé seems smitten with McEntire, revealing that he was wearing socks covered in images of her face.
“These are the finest socks ever,” the crooner declared. “Look at how beautiful. They’re smiling, ‘Hey Mike, I’m gonna beat you!'”
Fans Say They Can’t Wait to Watch Coaches of Season 28
Fans were thrilled to see the foursome of coaches, including one who called them the “dream team” of “The Voice.” The celebs filmed their first blind audition episodes in early July.
Some fans noted how hard it will be for contestants to choose a coach from the panel. One wrote, “I would NOT be able to pick between Niall and Reba 😭 Can I choose both coaches??”
The comment section was flooded with comments from Horan’s fans, insisting that he’ll earn his third victory on the show and already swooning over getting to see him on the show each week.
“I am NOT gonna survive this season with Niall holy moly,” one wrote.
Season 28 of ‘The Voice’ will premiere on September 22 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
Meanwhile, NBC also announced on July 22 the coaching panel for season 29 — returning coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine — which will air during the spring of 2026. That season will be dubbed as the “Battle of Champions” with three coaches rather than four, and a number of new challenges and twists.
