Lucia Flores-Wiseman Reveals Why She Feels Connected To Brandi Carlile
Similar to Flores-Wiseman, singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile is also from Washington, and “The Voice” finalist explained how she listens to Carlile “all the time.”
In an interview with The Seattle Times, Flores-Wiseman opened up about how being from a small town in Washington allowed her to feel closer to Carlile, and the two even had the opportunity to perform together at a local concert in June 2018.
“I just love the power that she brings, that she really writes about what it’s like to be human and the stories and the pains and the accomplishments,” Flores-Wiseman told The Seattle Times. “Then my parents would definitely play Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Nirvana and Soundgarden. So many of those.”
So, it also made sense when Flores-Wiseman opted to sing Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” in the semi-finals.
And now, she has the opportunity to compete for the win in Season 27. But Flores-Wiseman is also ready to take the next steps in her career.
“I want to make sure that top five on ‘The Voice’ isn’t the last thing, you know?,” she added. “I just really want to be able to expand more, so I’m crossing my fingers that I can continue making Seattle proud and have people thinking of going back to Seattle for music.”
