Gwen Stefani celebrated her son Zuma Rossdale’s 17th birthday with a heartfelt tribute. The Instagram post gave fans a glimpse into how much he’s grown and how he’s beginning to channel stepdad Blake Shelton’s country style.
A Happy Birthday Message From Mom
The former coach on “The Voice” shared photos and videos of her teenage son. In the post, she captioned it, “happy birthday to our sweet and talented Zuma!! we love u soooo much!! ❤️.”
It was a carousel of photos and videos that the “Hollaback Girl” singer shared with fans. In the first image, Zuma can be seen tuning an acoustic guitar while wearing a denim jacket and a cowboy hat.
The carousel continued, as Gwen Stefani shared a video of Zuma singing some country music. Then it was a flashback, as we see a baby Zuma sitting while holding a mini guitar in his arms. It looks like his love of music started at a very young age.
The social media post showed off even more pictures highlighting the sweet relationship between Gwen and her son. She also happened to share a clip of Shelton introducing her son to the stage during one of his recent performances. Shelton called the budding country singer, “My man, Zuma Rossdale.”
Fans Notice the Blake Influence
It didn’t take long for fans to point out the obvious: Shelton definitely is rubbing off on Zuma. The 17-year-old seems to not only share the same love for country music but also the same clothing style.
One person wrote, “I love that he loves country music like a stepdad, he even talks with a little bit of a twang just like Blake❤️.” Another added, “I love that he loves Blake so much that he wants to dress like him and be like him. What a great Stepdad!”

Zuma is Following in Blake’s Footsteps
While Zuma is the middle child of Stefani and her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, lead singer of Bush, he seems to be skipping the rock genes and embracing the country genes of his stepdad.
In 2024, Zuma started performing at Shelton’s bar, Ole Red. He has since taken to the stage a couple more times since then.
Blake is definitely supportive of his stepson’s ambitions. He has personally introduced him to the audience during the performances and even promoted the show on social media, inviting fans to come check him out.
