Adam Levine is back on “The Voice” for Season 27, and he didn’t just quietly slide into his OG role. Nope, Levine showed up during the Playoffs episode on April 28, 2025, with a hair transformation so bold it basically demanded its own entrance music. The Maroon 5 frontman is now rocking a brilliant platinum color, a full dark beard, and (of course) the neck tattoos; basically, a full style reset with maximum impact.

A Legendary Hair Game
This isn’t exactly new territory for Levine, either. If you’ve been following him for more than five minutes, you know he treats his hair like a rotating art project; and we’re not mad about it. Platinum blonde back in 2014? Iconic. Hot pink faux hawk in 2021? Daring. Completely shaved head in 2015? Legendary chaos.
This latest update feels like a greatest-hits album cover: bold, clean, and unapologetically him. Levine’s never been afraid to switch things up, and that fearless attitude is part of why he’s remained such a standout, both in music and on TV.
His Fellow Coaches Had Opinions
According to Us Weekly, it seems like even behind the scenes, Levine’s hair had its own moment. “When we showed up today, Adam’s new hairdo [was] the talk of the town,” said coach Michael Bublé. “Listen, I don’t want to talk out of school but there’s a debate backstage of what color that is.”
John Legend, who has been coaching for a while now, couldn’t resist joining the fun either, joking, “He took this OG thing very seriously. He was like, ‘Maybe I should come back with actual gray hair to denote my OG status.’” If that was the plan, consider it a success, Mr. Levine because you’re looking like the coolest “silver fox” in the game.
Then the newest coach, Kelsea Ballerini, also weighed in, saying, “You could call it blonde. You could call it silver. I feel like gray is not an appropriate term to put in that collection.” (Honestly? Agreed. There’s nothing drab about it.)
What Adam Levine Had to Say
Levine cleared it all up himself, saying, “It’s more of a platinum ice kind of white color,” also per Us Weekly. Leave it to Adam to make “frozen chic” the vibe of the season. One can only wonder how many fans are frantically Googling “how to go platinum without frying your hair.” (Pro tip: maybe leave it to the professionals.)
Any way you look at it Adam Levine didn’t just come back to “The Voice” — he came back to own it.
