Lady Eliza Spencer just made it official! Princess Diana’s 33-year-old niece is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Channing Millerd, and the romantic moment couldn’t be dreamier.
Eliza shared the exciting news on July 31 via Instagram, posting a carousel of scenic engagement photos captured during the couple’s sun-soaked trip to Santorini, Greece.

A Romantic Seaside Proposal Straight Out of a Fairytale
According to the Instagram post, Millerd popped the question overlooking the Aegean Sea with a romantic table framed by white florals and candlelight.
One particularly emotional photo shows Millerd down on one knee as Eliza—dressed in a red dress and flip-flops—kneels beside him, covering her smiling mouth in surprise. “Forever and Ever,” Eliza captioned the moment, alongside a red heart emoji.
Millerd also re-shared the photos on his Instagram Stories, setting them to an instrumental version of “Stand By Me.”
Family Reactions: “The Best News Everrrrrrrr”
Eliza’s twin sister, Lady Amelia Spencer, was among the first to react to the post, flooding the comments with joy. “The best news everrrrrrrr,” she wrote. “I couldn’t be happier for you both! The BEST NEWS IN THE WORLD. I love you both with all my heart! The perfect couple and dream engagement.”
The twins, who are known for their close bond, are often seen attending royal-adjacent events with their respective partners, including Royal Ascot.
A Tight-Knit Circle of Love & Friendship
Interestingly, Amelia’s husband, Greg Mallett, and Channing Millerd also share a longstanding friendship. “Channing is one of my best and closest friends,” Mallett previously told Hello! magazine. “We played a lot of the same sports, like rugby and water polo, and naturally shared a lot of the same interests. More than that, we share the same values – loyalty, ambition, integrity and a strong sense of family – which has kept our bond strong over the years.”
Eliza’s engagement follows the weddings of both her sisters: Lady Kitty Spencer married Michael Lewis in 2021, and Lady Amelia tied the knot with Greg Mallett in 2023.
They also have an older brother, Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp, the heir to the Spencer family’s Althorp estate and title, passed down by their father, Charles Spencer, Princess Diana’s brother.
A Wedding on the Horizon: Italy, Spain, or South Africa?
Although Eliza is the last of her sisters to get engaged, she has hinted that wedding planning was already in the air. “Marriage is definitely something we’ve talked about,” she recently told Hello!
“We love the idea of a destination wedding,” Eliza shared. “We feel drawn to Italy, especially somewhere by the ocean — that feels so romantic to us. Spain has that same coastal charm we adore.”
But there’s still a strong connection to her roots. “At the same time, Amelia & Greg’s wedding in Cape Town was unforgettable, and South Africa will always be home.”
