As the next in line for the British throne, Prince William has grown up to be poised. However, recent photos shared of him and his three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, whom he shares with his wife, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales — have shown a more playful side of his personality.

Prince William Shares a Look at His Relationship With His Kids

Two pictures were posted on the official Instagram page of The Prince and Princess of Wales, which has 16.8 million followers. The family posted the message in celebration of Father’s Day on June 15. The royal children shared their heartfelt message for their dad in the caption. It reads, “Happy Father’s Day, Papa (before and after!) We love you! G, C & L.”

The photos are professional, but the second picture is less posed than usual, making the moment seem more authentic and pure. Fans of the royals reacted to the post in the comment section. “These photos were taken on the same day as Prince Louis’s 7th birthday. so beautiful,” a comment reads. “Beautiful photos. Hope you have a wonderful father’s Day Your Royal Highness,” another person wrote.

Prince William Discusses Fatherhood

Prince William is often praised for having a beautiful family and for being a dedicated father. He discussed fatherhood in the BBC documentary “Football, Prince William, and Our Mental Health” in October 2021. He also reflected on the impact that his children had on his life.

“It’s one of the most amazing moments of life, but it’s also one of the scariest,” William said in the documentary, Motherly reports. “Having children is the biggest life-changing moment, it really is.” Also in the documentary, Prince William highlighted the importance of being able to rely on the support of his wife, whom he married on April 29, 2011.

In 2016, the Prince opened up about his children again. “I’m a lot more emotional than I used to be, weirdly. I never used to get too wound up or worried about things,” he said in an interview, ABC News reports. He also acknowledged how losing his mother, Princess Diana, at such a young age impacted him.

He continued, “But now the smallest little things, you well up a little more, you get affected by the sort of things that happen around the world or whatever, a lot more, I think, as a father. Just because you realize how precious life is and it puts it all in perspective, the idea of not being around to see your children grow up and stuff like that.”
