Pamela Anderson is setting the record straight when it comes to rumors that Meghan Markle’s cooking show borrowed ideas from her own.
During an Aug. 3 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” Anderson, 58, was asked if she believed the Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” copied her own show, “Pamela’s Cooking With Love.” Both series debuted just a week apart earlier this year.
Pamela Anderson Shuts Down Meghan Markle Copycat Claims
“On a scale from one to ten, how much of a rip off did you feel like ‘With Love, Meghan’ was of your show, ‘Pamela’s Cooking With Love?’ There were articles saying these two shows were very similar,” Cohen asked during a game of “Plead the Fifth.”
Anderson, appearing on the show with her “Naked Gun” co-star and current romantic partner Liam Neeson, looked taken aback by the question.
“One. I didn’t,” she responded.
Cohen pressed, “One? On a scale from one to 10, you did not see any similarities?”
Shaking her head, Anderson replied, “No, I didn’t really look, but I didn’t invent cooking shows,” adding with a laugh, “She’s just doing her thing.”
Fans praised Anderson’s poised response in the comments, with one writing, “Already loved Pam but I loved the way she handled the Meghan question,” and another adding, “What an icon!!!!!! She handled those q’s perfectly.”
Two Shows, One Genre—But No Drama
“Pamela’s Cooking With Love” premiered on Feb. 24 and airs on Canada’s Flavour Network. The show features the former “Baywatch” star inviting renowned chefs to a rustic home on Vancouver Island to create plant-based meals for curated dinner parties.
Markle’s Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” followed shortly after, premiering on March 4. Originally slated for January, the show was postponed due to wildfires in Los Angeles. The series features Markle cooking, gardening, and entertaining friends and celebrity chefs such as Roy Choi and Alice Waters.
A second season of “With Love, Meghan” has already been filmed and is expected to debut this fall. However, The Sun reported in July that Meghan and Prince Harry’s five-year, $100 million deal with Netflix will not be renewed when it expires in September.
Still, a Hollywood insider told People that while the Netflix deal may not be renewed, a new kind of partnership with the streamer could still be in the works—leaving the future of Meghan’s cooking show up in the air.
Either way, Anderson seems unfazed. Despite the speculation, she made it clear she’s not bothered by the comparisons—and in her eyes, there’s more than enough room in the kitchen for everyone.
