Meghan Markle’s Netflix Deal Ends — What’s Next for Her Hit Series?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s five-year, $100 million deal with Netflix is set to expire in September and will not be renewed, according to a July 23 report by The Sun.

Despite the deal ending, reports suggest the couple’s relationship with the platform may still continue. So what does that mean for Markle’s hit lifestyle series, “With Love, Meghan”?

An Amicable Split

An inside source confirmed to People that the decision not to extend the deal aligns with Netflix’s ongoing shift away from large, multi-project partnerships.

“There’s no animosity from either side,” a source told The Sun. “Things have just run their course.”

Despite the conclusion of their contract, Markle’s home-and-living series “With Love, Meghan” is moving full speed ahead. Season two has already been filmed and is expected to premiere this fall.

While the end of the contract marks a turning point, insiders maintain that Netflix remains open to future collaborations with the Sussexes. “They’re not unhappy with how things turned out,” the source continued. “They got those initial hits, and produced one of the most talked-about shows of all time.”

Given the success of season 1, the possibility of future seasons remains open — likely depending on how season 2 performs.

With Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos said to be on good terms with Markle, the door may be open for her to take the series elsewhere. According to The Sun, Paramount+ is believed to be interested in working with the couple and “would be open to it if the right project comes along.”

Season 1 Was a Huge Success

Markle, 43, and Prince Harry, 40, initially made waves in 2022 with their record-breaking docuseries “Harry & Meghan,” which became the most-watched documentary debut in Netflix’s history, per CBS News. Building on that momentum, Meghan launched “With Love, Meghan,” which premiered in March 2025.

In its first week, the series cracked Netflix’s global Top 10 Shows list and earned 2.6 million views along with 12.6 million hours watched. By July 17, the show had racked up 5.3 million views, placing it at No. 383 in Netflix’s latest Engagement Report.

The series, filmed in Montecito, California, where the Duke and Duchess reside with their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, features Markle inviting celebrity guests into the kitchen to share recipes and entertaining tips. Notable guests have included Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi, and Alice Waters.

“The series is about doing what you can do, and doing it with love,” Markle told People in a March cover interview.

What to Expect on Season 2 of “With Love, Meghan”

Season 2 will feature more prominent guests, including Chrissy Teigen and chef José Andrés. “We love José so much,” Markle said during an appearance at the TIME100 Summit in April. “I’ve been fortunate to have the people that I want on the show… I’ve been really lucky. We have a great, great lineup.”

Michael Steed returned as director for the new season, while Markle continues to serve as executive producer.

Although the series is not filmed at their actual residence, Markle shared with People that her children have had a small but meaningful role in the production.

“Archie did the [filming clapboard]! Sweet moments,” she said. “They would also come with my husband and visit me on-set. I loved that my children were able to watch me working and see the balance of that and understand what Mama does and is working to create and share. It was really special because up until then, they hadn’t seen me at work.”
