Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are among the most talked-about people in popular culture. Recently, the former “Suits” star and mother of two celebrated her 44th birthday and took to Instagram to give an inside look at the classy occasion.
Markle’s birthday is August 4, and she highlighted the day on social media two days later. She did so by posting a snap of herself blowing out her birthday candles on a beautiful cake, complete with sunflowers.
She captioned the post, “Blowing out the candles on a beautiful 24 hours, and thanking my husband, friends, and family for making it so special. To those of you I don’t know, but who send love every day – thank you so much. Please know I feel it and appreciate it.”
From there, she briefly discussed the food she enjoyed. Markle said, “And just to get a little foodie on you….this dinner last night at @funke_la with the culinary mastery of @evanfunke and his team is in the top five meals of my life. Extraordinary. Thank you for a standout dining experience.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Celebrated Her Birthday at a Popular Restaurant for Celebrities
Markle is a self-proclaimed foodie. Not only has she hosted a cooking show, but she also mentioned her love of food culture in her birthday post. Because of this, it’s no surprise that she and Prince Harry would pick a luxurious establishment for the celebration.
The restaurant they went to for the occasion was Funke in Beverly Hills. Owned by Evan Funke, it’s a well-known hotspot for many celebrities. According to Love Beverly Hills, Kim Kardashian recently celebrated a birthday there. Her sisters were in attendance, as were Sofia Vergara and Lauren Sanchez.
Funke is an upscale Italian restaurant. The official website states that it specializes in “time-honored recipes” and utilizes “old-school pasta shapes and cooking techniques.”
Her Cooking Show Will Not Continue
Markle hosted “With Love, Meghan” on Netflix. The show premiered in March 2025 and was a part of the $100 million deal she and Prince Harry signed with the streamer. However, reports say the show has not been renewed for a second season and that their contract, which began in 2020, is not being extended.
Regarding the show, many called it a rip-off of Pamela Anderson’s cooking show, “Pamela’s Cooking with Love.” According to PEOPLE, the “Naked Gun” star was recently on “Watch What Happens Live,” and Andy Cohen asked if she believed this to be true.
He asked, “On a scale from one to ten, how much of a rip off did you feel like ‘With Love, Meghan’ was of your show, ‘Pamela’s Cooking With Love?’ There were articles saying these two shows were very similar.”
She responded, “One. I didn’t.” Andy then said, “One? On a scale from one to 10, you did not see any similarities?” Pamela went on, “No, I didn’t really look, but I didn’t invent cooking shows. She’s just doing her thing.”
