Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple have been doing well since getting engaged during the debut season of “The Golden Bachelorette.” Their relationship has been long-distance since they filmed, but a new update revealed that distance will soon be less of a challenge to manage.
Chock Chapple & Joan Vassos Think They’ve Found an Apartment in New York City
On December 6, Vassos and Chapple spoke with E! News while attending the iHeart Radio’s Jingle Ball. They revealed they believed they may have found the first place that would be theirs together.
Vassos lives in Maryland, while Chapple lives in Kansas. Neither of them plans to move to where the other lives, though.
Instead, “The Golden Bachelorette” stars decided to get an apartment in New York City to share while still maintaining their separate Maryland and Kansas homes.
“We think we found a place,” Vassos shared. “We have a realtor in New York, and she sent us a video of her going through the apartment and it looks great,” she added.
The couple liked what they saw so much they are “hoping it’s done.” Vassos explained that the options this time of year are limited, especially when they have a specific city area in mind.
“We’re just keeping our fingers crossed that we get it. Hopefully, this is the one.”
Vassos noted that the couple spent time in New York City in person several weeks ago to look at apartments. They looked at 30, and it seems none were quite the right fit.
Since then, Vassos shared, “This one just came up in SoHo, and it’s exactly where we want to be.”
There’s no ‘Golden Bachelorette’ Wedding Planned Yet
Chapple and Vassos both had specific things on their wish list for their place together. She wants a big closet, and he would like a patio where he could have a cigar now and then.
It seems the closet will win out over the smoking patio if it comes down to choosing one or the other, though.
The pair looks forward to having a where they can “just be us a little bit,” Vassos shared. They both love living near their families in Maryland and Kansas, but “to have the whole city as our place to play is gonna be great,” she noted.
Vassos and Chapple have moved forward fairly quickly on getting an apartment in NYC together, but that will not necessarily be the case when it comes to a wedding.
“Right now, it just feels good to just be a couple and not have cameras all around and just to hang out and be us for a little while,” she explained.
They haven’t decided on a wedding date yet, nor are they making plans. “I think in a year-ish,” Vassos suggested as a potential wedding.
