Jesse Palmer Gives Franchise Update Ahead of ‘BIP’ Premiere

“The Bachelor In Paradise” season 10 premieres tonight, Monday, July 7, at 8 p.m. on ABC. The spinoff, in which viewers will see several familiar faces from prior seasons, is set in the tropical beauty of Costa Rica. Host Jesse Palmer recently gave some important updates about the franchise’s multiple shows.

Jesse Palmer On ‘Bachelor’ Season 30: ‘Makes Me Feel Old’

US Weekly says Jesse Palmer, host of “The Bachelor,” exclusively spoke to them and reacted to the recent news that “The Bachelor” has been renewed for a 30th season.

The 46-year-old, who starred on the show in 2004, exclaimed to the outlet, “It makes me feel old, because I was Bachelor 5!” He went on to reveal his one expectation for the milestone season, saying “We’ve got to make this big.” Palmer said he is hoping for trips to super romantic locations. His suggestions for potential cities include Paris and Venice. “I want to do an intro on a gondola ride. I want rose ceremonies on gondolas somewhere in the Venice canal! I’m pulling out all stops!” he said.

Jesse Palmer Said ‘The Bachelor In Paradise’ Is Ramping Up Quality With New Cameras

The former New York Giants player said Season 10 of “The Bachelor in Paradise” will be marked by a “very fresh and new look,” thanks to some technological advances.

“We have been using the same cameras to film Paradise since the dawn of time. Having these new cameras and seeing how sharp and how slick it looks — it’s like I’m watching a movie,” he explained.

He told Us he thinks the upgraded cameras will finally do justice to the show’s nature, which finds “naturally sexy” due to the attractiveness of the contestants. “Everyone’s so hot — we should have the highest quality cameras capturing the beauty of these people,” he said.

Jesse Palmer’s Reaction to Mel Owens’ Recent Divisive Comments

Us says that during the exclusive interview, Jesse Palmer reacted to some comments which sparked debate that were recently made by Mel Owens. Owens, a former Los Angeles Rams player, is slated to star in the upcoming second season of “The Golden Bachelor” which gives senior citizens a chance to find love on the long-running reality dating franchise.

Glamour reports the divorced father of two said in a June 4 podcast interview that he plans to “cut” any female contestant over the age of 45, as his ideal age range for a partner is 45 to 60. Owens also suggested women should stay away from “artificial hips and wigs.”

When asked about the controversy, Palmer told Us that although he hasn’t spent much time with the former athlete, “he seems like a good guy” before adding, “I’m sure that’s something we’re going to talk about.”

Gerry Turner, the 72-year-old star of the premiere season of “The Golden Bachelor,” married 71-year-old contestant Theresa Nist.

Parade says a premiere date for season 2 of “The Golden Bachelor” has not been set.
