Taylor Swift has been a beloved part of “The Voice” over the years, working her way into fans’ hearts across the world. And now, Swift is dealing with some health issues in her family.
Swift has been by her dad’s side after he went in for a heart procedure over a month ago, TMZ reports. Scott Swift had quintuple bypass surgery, which was not the result of a heart attack, but “he’s feeling fantastic” as he recovers, the outlet adds.
People further reported that Scott had the surgery after he “went in for a check-up and his doctor noticed something that led to the operation.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, coronary artery bypass surgery “creates a new path for blood to go around a blocked or partially blocked artery in the heart. The surgery involves taking a healthy blood vessel from the chest or leg area. The vessel is connected below the blocked heart artery. The new path improves blood flow to the heart muscle.”
Taylor’s mom Andrea and her brother Austin have also been by her dad’s side.
Scott and Andrea Swift Have Both Battled Cancer

“Both of my parents have had cancer, and my mom is now fighting her battle with it again,” Taylor Swift said. “It’s taught me that there are real problems and then there’s everything else. My mom’s cancer is a real problem. I used to be so anxious about daily ups and downs. I give all of my worry, stress, and prayers to real problems now.”
The singer first revealed in 2015 that her mother had cancer through Tumblr, Today.com recalls. Andrea then battled with it once again in 2019, and Taylor ultimately told Variety that she was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
“Usually when things happen to me, I process them and then write music about how I feel, and you hear it much later. This is something my family and I thought you should know about now,” she wrote to her fans in 2015.
