Since Taylor Swift announced her latest studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on August 12, the pop star revealed daring variations of the cover.
Her latest pic, which she shared on Instagram, is her most sizzling yet. Swift is clad in a nude-colored bralette adorned with crystals, attached at the neck with a halter.
On her lower half, Swift is wearing a matching bikini bottom with high cutouts at the legs. Adding to her showgirl look, the “Bad Blood” singer dons a large headdress with yellow feathers and a large boa with blue ends.
As for Swift’s makeup, she wore a dramatic smoky eye and her signature red lips.
“The Life of a Showgirl: Baby, That’s Show Business Vinyl Collection is available now on my site for 48 hours, while supplies last,” Swift captioned.
Swift Has 5 Alternate Album Covers So Far
Swift unveiled the original cover for “The Life of a Showgirl” on the August 13 episode of the “New Heights” podcast with Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce.
The shot showed Swift in a bathtub with her face peeking out above the water, wearing an embellished bra top with mermaid-like chains across her bodice.
The same day, Swift posted a limited release version of her album cover — this time of her in a darkened theater wearing a black bodysuit. This one she called, “The Life of a Showgirl: It’s Frightening.”
The second iteration posted by Swift was a green-lit shot of her in a black wig peeping out from behind her hands.
“Pre-order The Life of a Showgirl: ‘It’s Rapturous’ Limited Release Deluxe CD now on my site,” she wrote.
“The Life of a Showgirl: It’s Beautiful” features Swift covered in a crystal headdress and a matching bikini top and bottom.
And finally, Swift’s fourth version shows her leaning against a wall wearing a glittery black bodysuit, long gloves, and nude fishnet stockings.
Swift Explained Her Original Album Cover for ‘The Life of a Showgirl’
During her appearance on “New Heights,” Swift explained why she chose to pose in a bathtub wearing a crystalized bodysuit.
“This represents the end of my night, right? So when I’m on tour, I have the same day every single day. My show days are the same every single day. I just happen to be in a different city,” she said.
Swift continued, “My day ends with me in a bathtub, not usually in a bedazzled dress, but we try to keep it decent, you know. I wanted to sort of glamorize all the different aspects of how that tour felt, and that’s how that felt to be at the end of the night.”
“And the reason I wanted to have it sort of like an offstage moment as the main album cover is because this album isn’t really about what happened to me on stage. It’s about what I was going through offstage,” she shared.
