On June 24, Bunim/Murray Productions, the creators of reality competition series like “The Real World” and “The Challenge,” revealed that production is currently under way on an all-new reality survival competition series titled “Predator vs. Prey.”
According to Bunim/Murray’s senior vice president of development Gayani Wanigaratne, “Predator vs. Prey” will be “the ultimate test of grit and strength, pitting top survival stars against each other in a relentless game of chase and survival through a challenging wilderness environment.”
According to Variety, the show will feature a 15-person cast that “will be divided into two groups, with Predators able to bank up to $500,000 for capturing Prey, who earn cash prizes for staying in the game. Each episode will feature a different challenge that changes the game and forces Prey out of hiding.”
Variety also reported that the cast will be composed entirely of former contestants from reality survival competition series like “Outlast,” “Naked & Afraid,” “Alone” and, unsurprisingly, “Survivor.”
‘Predator vs. Prey’ Host Teases ‘World’s Best’ Cast
Still in development, there is no confirmed cast list for “Predator vs. Prey” just yet, though the series’ new host, “Reacher” star Alan Ritchson, confirmed that the series would see “the world’s best survivalists pitted against each other in a high-octane game of hide-and-seek, all while surviving days or weeks in the most frightening, unpredictable scenarios Mother Nature has to offer…TV doesn’t get more exciting that this.”
“I can’t wait to be in the wild with these contestants,” added Ritchson, who will join “Predator vs. Prey” not only as host and “game master,” but also as an executive producer.

Speaking to Variety, Wanigaratne revealed that he co-developed the series with Ritchson.
“Fueled by his passion for the survival space, [Ritchson] brings an authentic edge and fresh creative perspective. His first question to us was, when does he get to parachute into the wilderness to greet the players!” said Wanigaratne.
Which ‘Survivor’ Alums Could Appear on ‘Predator vs. Prey’
“Predator vs. Prey” won’t be the first time that former “Survivor” alums have moved onto other competition series. In the past, reality stars who got their start on CBS’s “Survivor” have gone on to compete on shows like “The Amazing Race,” “The Traitors,” “House of Villains” and “Deal or No Deal Island,” among others.
But which castaways would be best suited for a 21-day game of hide-and-seek? The obvious answer is two-time “Survivor” winner Tony Vlachos, who hid from his fellow “Survivor: Cagayan” tribemates in his ‘Spy Shack’ in order to spy on them.

Other options could include “Survivor” challenge beasts like Malcolm Freberg, Joe Anglim, Chrissy Hofbeck and Kelly Wigglesworth, and legacy “Survivor” players like Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano, Parvati Shallow, and Cirie Fields, all of whom have also appeared on “The Traitors.”
Stayed tuned for more updates on Bunim/Murray Productions’ “Predator vs. Prey” as they become available.
