“Survivor 49″ is expected to air in fall 2025, and there has been much speculation about who would be cast in the upcoming season. The first look at what fans can expect has finally been shared on social media.
In a post on Facebook on May 22, we see footage of the scenery, including snakes and skeletons, and we can hear the voices of the castaways as they share what the experience means to them. But what else do we know about “Survivor 49,” and how do fans feel about the casting?
What Do We Know About ‘Survivor 49?’
One man calls the moment a “culmination of my entire life,” adding, “everything has led me to this moment.” Another woman says, “I kind of want to play this game like a mermaid, you know, lure people in with my words and before they know it … they’re drowning.”
“I feel like this is when ‘Survivor’ turns into a horror movie,” another castaway says. The footage then shows the castaways and spotlights some of them. This includes Rizo, who describes himself as “the man, the myth, the legend.” The casting also includes Nate Moore, former development executive at Marvel Studios, is also among the castaways, Variety reports.
The Facebook post was captioned with a simple message: “Here’s a #SneakPeek of #Survivor 49, coming this fall.” But is this the show that fans have been hoping for?
Fans React to ‘Survivor 49’ Casting
Fans have reacted to the post, and their feelings about the upcoming season are mixed. Some are excited, others are not so much! “Bring back the days of starting off pirating on the boat … make them swim to shore,” a comment reads. “I watch every season, some I like better than others. If I was bored, I wouldn’t watch just to complain,” another fan shared.
Other reactions include, “I hope this season is full of blind sides, rice earning, paranoia, sketching around the island. Full on dramatic chaos,” and “Bring back survivor reunion. Miss seeing all the family and other castaways.”
Host Jeff Probst has also commented on what audiences can expect. “Every season of Survivor is unique, and that is definitely the case for Survivor 49,” Probst told Entertainment Weekly on May 21. “This is a very likable and quirky group of players that are going to encounter a Fijian summer so sweltering it feels like the jungle is breathing on you.”
Episodes are 90 minutes long and will continue to air on CBS on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. EST.
