Rumored ‘Survivor 50’ Tribe Divisions and What They Mean for the Landmark Season

SPOILER ALERT!!! This article contains potential spoilers for “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans” airing on CBS in early 2026, as well as for “Survivor 49” premiering this fall.

Inside Survivor – a page run by “Survivor” fans, for “Survivor” fans – has historically provided devotees of the long-running CBS reality competition series with exclusive cast interviews and other news about the show and its contestants. More specifically, Inside Survivor is known for providing fans with spoilers for upcoming seasons of “Survivor,” offering information on rumored casts, format changes and tribe divisions.

The most recent spoiler from the “one-stop shop for ‘Survivor’ fans,” revealed the rumored tribe divisions for “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans.” Though it’s not set to make its CBS debut until February 2026, the landmark season has been one of the show’s most-anticipated to date.

Featuring the series’ largest-ever cast of 24 returning players from throughout the whole of its 25-year history, the upcoming season has similarly been shaped by its viewers, who were given the chance to vote on key game aspects like hidden immunity idols and challenges while “Survivor 48” was airing earlier this year.

Though we don’t yet know the results of the fan-votes, nor will they be confirmed until the season airs next year, Inside Survivor has provided fans with the rumored “Survivor 50” tribe divisions. Here’s a closer look at the spoiled tribes – and what they might mean for the landmark season.

Who Will Start ‘Survivor 50’ on the Purple Tribe?

According to Inside Survivor, the following returning players will begin “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans” on the Purple Tribe:

Genevieve Mushaluk, Kyle Fraser, Angelina Keeley, Q Burdette, Colby Donaldson, Aubry Bracco and Stephenie LaGrossaCBS/Getty

  • Colby Donaldson (“Survivor: The Australian Outback”,”All-Stars” & “Heroes vs. Villains”)
  • Stephenie LaGrossa (“Survivor: Palau”,”Guatemala” & “Heroes vs Villains”)
  • Aubry Bracco (“Survivor: Kaoh Rong”,”Game Changers” & “Edge of Extinction”)
  • Angelina Keeley (“Survivor: David vs. Goliath”)
  • Q Burdette (“Survivor 46”)
  • Genevieve Mushaluk (“Survivor 47”)
  • Kyle Fraser (“Survivor 48”)
  • Rizo Velovic (“Survivor 49”)

Of the eight players on the tribe, only Colby, Stephenie and Aubry have played more than once, each returning for their fourth appearance on “Survivor 50.”

Of those three, Colby and Stephenie are the only two Purple tribe members to have a pre-existing connection, having both appeared on the cast of “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains” in 2010. Though the two began the game as allies on the “Heroes” tribe, a failed plan to blindside Amanda Kimmel resulted in Stephenie quickly becoming the second person voted off the tribe. Could the duo join forces yet again for Season 50?

Other notable members of the Purple tribe include “Survivor 48” winner Kyle Fraser, who was only announced as the season’s “Sole Survivor” a week before he was confirmed for the “Survivor 50” cast. Also rumored to be joining the tribe is Rizo Velovic, who will appear on the cast of “Survivor 49” this fall. While Velovic hasn’t been officially confirmed for the “Survivor 50” cast, fans are near certain that he will compete as the mystery male contestant from the upcoming season.

Who Will Start ‘Survivor 50’ on the Teal Tribe?

Here are the returning players that Inside Survivor reports will begin the season on the Teal tribe:

Mike White, Benjamin "Coach" Wade, Kamilla Karthigesu, Tiffany Nicole Evrin, Jonathan Young, Charlie Davis, Chrissy Hofbeck and Dee ValladaresCBS/Getty

  • Benjamin “Coach” Wade (“Survivor: Tocantins”, “Heroes vs. Villains” &  “South Pacific”)
  • Mike White (“Survivor: David vs. Goliath”)
  • Chrissy Hofbeck (“Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers”)
  • Jonathan Young (“Survivor 42”)
  • Dee Valladares (“Survivor 45”)
  • Tiffany Nicole Evrin (“Survivor 46”)
  • Charlie Davis (“Survivor 46”)
  • Kamilla Karthigesu (“Survivor 48”)

While Coach will be the only Teal tribe player who has played the game more than once, he will be faced with serious competitors like “Survivor 45” winner Dee, challenge beast like Jonathan, and strategic threats like Kamilla.

New-era players will be at an advantage on the Teal tribe, with Dee, Jonathan and Kamilla joined by Charlie and Tiffany, who originally appeared on “Survivor 46” together. Will the new-era players be able to hold tight to a strong-five alliance? Or will castaways like “The White Lotus” creator Mike White be able to flip the game on its head?

Who Will Start ‘Survivor 50’ on the Orange Tribe?

Finally, Inside Survivor has revealed that the season’s Orange tribe will feature the following returning players:

Jenna Lewis, Ozzy Lusth, Cirie Fields, Rick Devens, Joe Hunter, Emily Flippen and Christian HubibkiCBS/Getty

  • Jenna Lewis-Dougherty (“Survivor: Borneo” & “All-Stars”)
  • Cirie Fields (“Survivor: Panama”,”Micronesia”,”Heroes vs. Villains” & “Game Changers”)
  • Ozzy Lusth (“Survivor: Cook Islands”,”Micronesia”,”South Pacific” & “Game Changers”)
  • Christian Hubicki (“Survivor: David vs. Goliath”)
  • Rick Devens (“Survivor: Edge of Extinction”)
  • Emily Flippen (“Survivor 45”)
  • Joe Hunter (“Survivor 48”)
  • Savannah Louie (“Survivor 49”)

Where new-era players will begin the game with a leg up on the Teal tribe, the Orange tribe will favor legacy players like Jenna, Cirie and Ozzy, who could potentially ally with Christian and Rick to overpower the new-era returnees. Alternately, Christian and Rick could act as swing votes between the clear new-school-old-school divisions, giving them power over the early stages of the game.

On the Orange tribe, only Cirie and Ozzy have a prior connection, having started “Survivor” on the same tribe twice before for “Micronesia” and “Game Changers.” In “Micronesia,” Cirie was instrumental in eliminating Ozzy, a fact that didn’t go undiscussed on “Game Changers.” Will the old beef between players once again rise to the surface on “Survivor 50”? Or will they be able to put aside their differences to ally against the new-era players?

Speaking of the new-era, the Purple tribe is also rumored to feature Savannah Louie, who won’t make her “Survivor” debut until September 2025. While Savannah has yet to even be confirmed for the cast of “Survivor 50,” her placement on the Orange tribe has led fans to speculate that she may have even won Season 49. If the rumor is true, each tribe for “Survivor 50” will feature one former winner – Kyle for Purple, Dee for Teal, and Savannah for Orange.
