Carter took to his Instagram to share a post about his trip to the Trek To Vegas 2025 convention. Shatner, 94, portrayed the dashing and charismatic captain of the USS Enterprise NC-1701 from 1966 to 1969 before returning for several feature films.

Carter said in the clip, “If you guys don’t know, I’m a die-hard trekkie! Alright. Literally, you have no idea. He then said he was “really really excited” to dive into the fan experience.

The musician revealed, “I started watching the movies when I was little, so that’s what really got me into it,” before saying he just recently started watching all the original shows in the franchise.

In one part of the clip, he threw up the famous Vulcan “live long and prosper” hand sign, before taking a virtual tour of the Enterprise at an exhibit called the Gene Roddenberry Archive.

You look fantastic.”

Shatner had more praise for the band, saying, “In addition to forming a group that sings, you’re a group that love each other, and have a whole history together. What a benefit!” Carter replied, “I just wish I was you!”
