Wrestler The Undertaker Pays Tribute to ‘True Legend’ Hulk Hogan

The professional wrestling world is reeling from the loss of one of its biggest icons. Hulk Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died on Thursday, July 24, at the age of 71. According to TMZ, the WWE Hall of Famer suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida.

Hogan’s family confirmed the heartbreaking news to Us Weekly in a statement, prompting an outpouring of grief from fans, peers, and wrestling legends alike.

The Undertaker Shares Emotional Tribute

One of the most poignant messages came from fellow WWE legend The Undertaker, who took to social media shortly after Hogan’s death to honor his memory.

“The wrestling world has lost a true legend,” The Undertaker, whose real name is Mark Calaway, wrote. “His contributions to our business are immeasurable and for that I am appreciative.”

“Thank you, Hulk Hogan,” he concluded.

Though their relationship had its ups and downs, including controversy following their 1991 Survivor Series match and tension during Hogan’s 2002 return to WWE, Calaway still chose to pay heartfelt respects to the man he once shared the ring with.

The two wrestling giants clashed in three televised singles matches during their careers, including the 1991 bout in which the Undertaker defeated Hogan for the WWF Championship. Despite past tensions, this emotional tribute highlights Hogan’s impact on the industry.

Despite years of rumored animosity, Undertaker’s message reminds fans of the brotherhood that lives beyond the ring.

Outside the ring, Hogan was a father to two children, Brooke and Nick, whom he shared with his first wife, Linda Hogan. The family gained pop culture fame with their VH1 reality show, “Hogan Knows Best,” which offered fans a rare glimpse into their personal lives during the mid-2000s.

Despite the fame and spectacle of his wrestling career, Hogan remained grounded in family, known for his deep love and fierce loyalty to those closest to him.

Following his passing, Hogan’s family shared a touching message:

“It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we confirm we have lost a legend. Our beloved Terry Bollea, known worldwide as Hulk Hogan, passed away today surrounded by his loved ones.

At this time of grief, we ask that everyone please respect the privacy of his family and friends.

May we all take solace in the wonderful memories he left behind for the millions of fans worldwide whose lives he touched for more than four decades. He will be missed, but never forgotten.”
