Patrick Mahomes & His Wife’s $52 MILLION Project

Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes are high school sweethearts, and together they have built a life and an empire. Patrick is the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, and Brittany has proven herself as a soccer star, playing for Iceland. They are also parents to three children.

The Mahomes also have a keen eye for business ventures. In January 2023, Patrick became co-owner of the NWSL’s Kansas City Current, an American professional soccer team located in Kansas City, Missouri. His wife, Brittany, is a co-founding owner, along with co-owners Chris and Angie Long, Heavy reports. And now, there’s been an exciting (and expensive) development.

Patrick Mahomes & Brittany Mahomes’ Soccer Team

A lot has changed since the Kansas City Current played their first game in 2021. The team’s wealth is expanding. Earlier this week, the team announced that they were building the Riverside Stadium, The Performance Center, and a pitch expansion, Heavy reports. The stadium will be located in Riverside, Missouri, and $52 million has been invested in the project.

A glimpse at what the project will look like when it is completed was shared on the KC Current Instagram page. The caption reads, “Continuing our investment in women’s football. KC Current announces groundbreaking of Riverside Stadium, a new Performance Center, and pitch expansion.”

The account has 162,000 followers, and many reacted to the post, praising the expansion and the commitment to women’s soccer. “So awesome,” a comment reads. “incredible! will the performance center be for the athletes only? Or will there be a membership for public (like Chiefs Fit?),” another person asked. Other reactions include, “Omg I want to get in a workout here!!,” “Amazing. Love to see it! The future of soccer is female!!,” and “Continuing the legacy!”

The Kansas City Current Soccer Team’s Expansion

The Kansas City Current has big plans for the future. Co-owner Chris Long discussed the team’s total investment in facilities in an interview with ESPN published on July 17. His estimate is “somewhere between $225 million and $250 million,” ESPN reports.

“We’ve hosted so many tours of countries and federations, and it’s been really exciting for the team just to honestly get exposure to a lot of different people and approaches,” Long told ESPN.

In the same interview, he shared their hopes to be used as a base for the 2026 Men’s Soccer World Cup. The location would be ideal (they also plan to be operational before the event). “People love the fact that we have our front office space and our team location in a seamless fashion,” Long said. “A lot of places have their training facility and their front office is elsewhere. So, the ability to have everyone from XYZ country in the same spot.”

Brittany is passionate about her investment with the Kansas City Current, and her Instagram bio (where she has 2.1 million followers) reads: “mama” and “@kccurrent Co-Owner.”
