Fellow Icon Jake the Snake Posts Tribute to Hulk Hogan

The tributes continue to pour in for Hulk Hogan after his recent death, this time from fellow wrestling icon Jake the Snake. The news of Hogan’s death was confirmed by his family in a statement to Us Weekly, prompting an outpouring of grief from fans, peers, and wrestling legends alike.

Aurelian Smith Jr., better known as Jake “the Snake” Roberts to wrestling fans, took to X (formerly Twitter) to show his respect for the Hall of Famer.

Jake the Snake’s Tribute to Hulk Hogan

In his post, the current special advisor for All Elite Wrestling’s community outreach program, said, “It’s hard to put into words what Terry ‘Hulk Hogan’ Bollea meant to professional wrestling and entertainment. He may be gone, but his memory and legacy will live forever.”

The wrestling legend ended the tribute saying, “RIP Hulkster.”

Head-to-Head Battles

In a 2000 interview, Jake the Snake Roberts discussed why he only wrestled Hogan two times in his career. As two legends of the WWF, it seems odd that they only battled each other two times.

In the interview, Jake the Snake also talked about how Vince McMahon nixed a plan to have a feud between Hulk Hogan and Roberts. He states that Vince thought fans were cheering for Jake too much over Hogan. Because of that, it would have affected the World Wrestling Federation’s marketing plans.

Other Wrestling Legends Pay Their Respects

While Jake the Snake shared his respects on social media, many other WWE legends also took to social media to share heartfelt tributes, all of them honoring Hogan’s legacy.

In a touching tribute from Ric Flair, 75, he said he was shocked at the passing of Hogan. In part, he wrote: “I am absolutely shocked to hear about the passing of my close friend Hulk Hogan! Hulk has been by my side since we started in the wrestling business. An incredible athlete, talent, friend, and father! Our friendship has meant the world to me.”

We also heard from The Undertaker, 60, who shared on X: “The wrestling world has lost a true legend. His contributions to our business are immeasurable, and for that, I am appreciative. Thank you, Hulk Hogan.”

Finally, Triple H, 55, wrote in part: “WWE would not be where it is today without the larger-than-life characters that compete in the ring. And few, if any, loomed larger than Terry ‘Hulk Hogan’ Bollea.”
