Genie Francis Honors Tristan Rogers After News of His Passing

Genie Francis, who plays the role of Laura Spencer on the television soap opera, honored Rogers with a heartfelt message on X on August 15. “My heart is heavy. Goodbye my spectacular friend,” she wrote. “My deepest condolences to his wife Teresa and their children. Tristan Rogers was a very bright light, as an actor and a person. I was so lucky to have known him.”

Francis also shared a photo of herself and Rogers embracing. Her post has been flooded with reactions from fans and celebrities. “This hit me. I remember it well! RIP Mr. Rogers,” a comment reads. “My mom named me after this guy,” another person shared, reflecting on the significant impact that Rogers had on so many.

“Sorry for your loss Genie. I loved every scene you shared with him from his first. His devilish laugh and that handsome face,” a third fan shared.

Rogers played the role of Robert Scorpio, and he was deeply loved by his audience and all those who had the pleasure of working with him. The role was important to him, and it was mentioned in the statement his longtime manager, Meryl Soodak, made about his death.

Mary Beth Evans also made a statement on Instagram, saying she was “heartbroken” at his passing.

General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini reflected on the impact Rogers had on the show with a powerful statement on Instagram on August 15.

“The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers’ passing,” Valentini wrote. “Tristan has captivated our fans for 45 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio). I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time. Tristan was a one-of-a-kind talent and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.”
