“General Hospital” kicked off the new week with plenty of action. Stella is being investigated for insurance fraud, Maxie collapses on live television, and Vaughn comforts Joss. Plus, Drew thinks that he is now calling all the shots, but both Sonny and Sidwell seem to disagree.
Here’s a full recap for the Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, episode of GH!
Stella Is Accused of Insurance Fraud
ABCStella is at GH when officers from the State of New York approach her to discuss questions about insurance fraud. She has no problem accompanying them, as Jordan, Felicia, and Isaiah watch, because she is sure it’s a misunderstanding. Jordan calls Curtis and Portia, and Felicia calls an attorney, Martin Grey. Isaiah talks Curtis out of storming into the room where his aunt is, and he is glad to see Martin arrive, ready to help. Martin goes into the room and identifies himself as Stella’s counsel.
The agents tell Martin that he cannot represent her because he is also a person of interest in this case. After they finish talking, Stella and Martin join everyone else. Portia informs them that there is no case of insurance fraud on file with the hospital, and the agents tell her that their orders are from higher up.
Drew Thinks He Holds All the Cards
ABCADA Justine Turner hides out of sight at Sonny’s so that he can let Drew in. Once the congressman storms through his front door, he informs Sonny that he will do everything he demands, or else Michael goes to jail. He tells him that Michael hit him in front of a room full of people, and that he will have him arrested if he doesn’t do three things.
Drew wants Sonny to hand over the piers, give Willow custody of her kids, and then leave town. Sonny reminds him that even if he did these things, Willow still doesn’t want him. Sonny refuses to give Drew an answer on his demands, but the congressman still leaves on a high.
Justine comes out from hiding, absolutely furious because this amounts to extortion and corruption. Sonny is glad that she got to see Drew in action, but he points out that her hands are tied. Being at his house for dinner would kill her career. Justine also insists that he not retaliate against Drew.
Meanwhile, Drew is on top of the world as he visits Sidwell. Lucy had just left the importer after a romantic dinner, and his son Marco is now there. Drew shares what happened with Sonny and how they now have him exactly where they want him, plus Michael will be locked up. Sidwell and Marco don’t see things the same way. They think that if Michael is behind bars then Sonny has no incentive to agree to their terms. After Drew leaves, they agree that he could be a problem.
Maxie Collapses on Live Television
ABCThe ladies of Deception are setting up to do another live Home & Heart segment to promote new products. Flora, the host, pulls Brook Lynn aside to discuss what happened the last time that they were all together. She goes to bat for Lois and tries to get BLQ to see that her mother was just as confused about her teen pregnancy as she had been. At the very least, Brook Lynn appreciated her effort.
Off to the side, Maxie is talking to Martin about going to the police. BLQ, Tracy, and Lucy have all decided not to tell the PCPD that laundered money was invested in Deception, but she wants to do it. Martin tells her that she is legally protected, but will likely lose the company if she does it. She wants to have a meeting.
As the ladies get together onstage, Maxie cuts Lucy off and starts to apply their New Youth Truth product. After just a few seconds, she collapses, seemingly as a reaction to the product.
Vaughn Comforts Josslyn
ABCJosslyn returns to the bungalow that she is sharing with Vaughn and finds someone trying to strangle him. She fires her weapon, and it triggers a flashback to the night when she killed Cyrus. Luckily, Vaughn is okay, and he places a pillow over the face of the man who was sent to kill them. He wants to leave immediately because their cover has been blown, but Joss wants to talk to Britt.
Vaughn finally agrees, and they shut off the lights and drag the dead man’s body to dump him into the ocean. After they return to the bungalow Joss goes to get a shower. When she takes too long, Vaughn goes in to check on her. He finds Joss fully clothed, sitting on the floor of the running shower. He steps in and sits down beside her as the water pours over both of them. Joss breaks down as Vaughn hugs her.
Meanwhile, in the Five Poppies courtyard, Jason and Britt have come face to face. She panics and insists that Pascal fix the air conditioning in the lab immediately so that she can work. She then runs to her villa, where she cries behind closed doors. As she tries to rest, she realizes that Jason has let himself in and is staring at her.
