The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmys are approaching soon, with a ceremony scheduled for October 17, 2025, in Pasadena, California. On July 9, 2025, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced its first nominees, according to Deadline.
“General Hospital” star Nancy Lee Grahn was nominated in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress In A Daytime Drama Series for her portrayal of Alexis Davis, a character she has played since 1996.
Not long after her name was announced, the actress took to Instagram to say thank you.
Nancy Lee Grahn Is Celebrating All of Her Fellow Actors

Nancy Lee Grahn has played the role of Alexis Davis for nearly 30 years on “General Hospital,” which means that she has seen her fair share of actors come and go. She took a minute this morning to honor all of those in the trenches with her, working to bring daytime television to life.
“Always grateful for a sweet nod, however, CHEERs to all my fellow actors nominated or not. This acting medium is not 4 sissies. Daytime Television actors & crew work without a net. 130 pages of dialogue, 60 or more scenes with only one quick rehearsal a day. We shoot sometimes up to 8 hr shows in 5 days. Proud to be a member of this community,” shared the actress in her latest Instagram post.
The Competition Is Tight for Lead Actress
This isn’t Nancy’s first nomination. She was nominated and won her first Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1989 for her role as Julia Capwell on “Santa Barbara.” She then won another Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2012 for her work as Alexis Davis on “General Hospital.”
This time around, Nancy is up against a field of powerhouse actresses who have each played their characters for decades.
The field for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Daytime Drama Series includes:
Sharon Case as Sharon Newman
The Young and the Restless (CBS)
Eileen Davidson as Ashley Abbott
The Young and the Restless (CBS)
Melissa Claire Egan as Chelsea Lawson
The Young and the Restless (CBS)
Nancy Lee Grahn as Alexis Davis
General Hospital (ABC)
Michelle Stafford as Phyllis Summers
The Young and the Restless (CBS)
Laura Wright as Carly Spencer
General Hospital (ABC)
Only three shows earned nominations for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series this year: ABC’s “General Hospital” (last year’s winner), Peacock’s “Days of Our Lives,” and CBS’s “The Young and the Restless.”
