Chris McKenna’s Jack Brennan Is Now Under Contract on GH

It took a minute, but GH fans and the powers that be have both fallen for Chris McKenna’s version of Jack Brennan. The actor stepped into the role in February 2025, when Charles Mesure unexpectedly decided to leave the soap and the role of the WSB head behind.

According to SoapCentral, McKenna announced during the “General Hospital” fan club weekend that he’s officially becoming a contract player on the soap.

Chris McKenna Took Over Quickly and Grew on GH Fans

News of the recast of Jack Brennan came without warning for the fans, and McKenna moved quickly as well. He stepped into the role just days after Charles Mesure’s exit and appeared on GH less than 48 hours after the recast was announced. It took fans a little while to warm to McKenna because the previous actor was loved in the role, but the tide turned, and eventually, he became the only version of Jack Brennan that makes sense.

Recent rumors led to speculation that the character might soon be killed off. GH fans are now relieved to hear that Brennan will be sticking around for a while.

Jack Brennan Is in the Middle of Drama With Carly and Josslyn

It’s a good thing that Chris McKenna will be sticking around because Jack Brennan is embroiled in a complicated situation with both Carly and her daughter, Joss. To hear Jack tell it, Carly might be the only woman that he has ever allowed himself to love. While he doesn’t cross the line and share details of his work with her, he does make room for her, which is a lot for a guy like him.

On the one hand, Brennan is doing everything possible to treat Carly well, but on the other hand, he is betraying her in perhaps the most unforgivable way. He has recruited her daughter, Josslyn, into the WSB, sent her off to Easter Island for training, and has her currently working undercover with Vaughn. It is only a matter of time before the truth all comes tumbling out, and Carly’s rage will undoubtedly be far worse than anything that we have ever seen from her. It is a scene that everyone is anxious to see unfold.

There is plenty for Brennan to continue doing in Port Charles, and luckily, Chris McKenna is going to stick around to help it all play out.
