“Shark Tank” will return to ABC this fall for season 17, and ABC has announced an all-star lineup of guest sharks for the new season. From all-new guest sharks to some returning to the stage again, the lineup for “Shark Tank” season 17 has been revealed by Variety.
‘Shark Tank’ Season 17 Guest Sharks
For the new season of “Shark Tank,” which will premiere this fall on ABC, the guest sharks include:
- Allison Ellsworth, founder and chief brand officer of poppi
- Chip and Joanna Gaines, owners and founders of Magnolia
- Alexis Ohanian, venture capitalist and founder of Seven Seven Six; co-founder of Reddit
- Kendra Scott, owner and founder of Kendra Scott
- Michael Strahan, co-anchor, “Good Morning America” and co-founder of SMAC
- Fawn Weaver, founder and CEO of Uncle Nearest Inc.
- Rashaun Williams, venture capitalist, Atlanta Falcons LP
Williams and Scott will be familiar to fans of the show. They have both served as guest sharks, making appearances during season 16 of the popular series.
The Regular Sharks
The guest sharks will be making their appearances alongside the returning sharks: Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John, Daniel Lubetzky, and Kevin O’Leary.
One name you might be noticing missing from that list of regular sharks: Mark Cuban. That’s because Cuban announced back in May that he would not be returning to “Shark Tank” for this upcoming new season. Cuban served as a shark on the show for 14 seasons.
What to Expect for Season 17
With this lineup of guest sharks for season 17, what can fans of the show expect for the new season? Let’s take a look at some of the guest sharks and where they tend to gravitate with their investment styles:
- Chip and Joanna Gaines: They tend to focus on lifestyle, home brands, and family-centric products.
- Michael Strahan: He is a Pro Football Hall of Famer, so naturally, he leans more towards sports, wellness, and personal brands.
- Alexis Ohanian: He is the co-founder of Reddit, so of course, he invests in the tech area. Ohanian, the husband of tennis superstar Serena Williams, is also very involved with community platforms and social impact brands. In addition, CNN reported that Ohanian invested in the Chelsea Women soccer team and Williams was an investor in the Toronto Tempo, a new WNBA team. As a result, sports and wellness brands could also catch Ohanian’s attention.
ABC has not announced an exact premiere date for “Shark Tank” season 17. However, they have announced it will air on Wednesdays this fall, a departure from their typical Friday night spot.
