’Drag Race’ Star Lands Leading Role in ‘Finding Neverland’ Musical

In the same week that “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 5 winner Jinkx Monsoon announced that they would be taking over the role of Mary Todd Lincoln in “Oh, Mary” on Broadway, New York’s OFC Creations Theatre Centre similarly announced that yet another “Drag Race” alum would be sashaying into a Broadway role this fall – Season 13 finalist, Rosé.

On June 23, OFC Creations announced that the entertainer, known as Ross McCorkell out of drag, would be joining the cast of its production of “Finding Neverland” this September.

Rosé Joins ‘Finding Neverland’ as J.M. Barrie

Based on the 2004 film of the same name, “Finding Neverland” made its Broadway debut in March 2015, telling the story of “Peter Pan” playwright, J.M. Barrie, through the medium of songs penned by Take That star Gary Barlow and Grammy-winning songwriter Eliot Kennedy.

While McCorkell won’t be starring in a Broadway revival, it has been revealed that the “Drag Race” star will be starring in the musical’s leading role of J.M. Barrie at the OFC Creations Theatre Centre from September 25 to October 19.

Inspired by her Scottish-American ancestry and love of music, McCorkell/Rosé rose to fame after making it all the way to the finale of Season 13 in 2021, winning three maxi challenges along the way.

In addition to “Drag Race,” Rosé has displayed her singing and acting talents on hit TV series like “iCarly,” “America’s Got Talent” and “The Voice,” and on stage in productions like “The Diana Mixtape,” “The Wizard of Oz” and the global Off-Broadway hit, “Titanique.”

“Finding Neverland” will be the first show in OFC Creation’s 2025-2026 Broadway in Brighton series, which is also set to include productions of shows like “The Golden Girls Musical,” “Hello, Dolly!” and “Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas: The Musical.”

Rosé Says He’s ‘Interested’ in Doing ‘All Stars’

Rosé’s appearance in “Finding Neverland” this fall will mark a step away from his drag career, which began in 2017.

Ahead of the release of his debut EP “oh, boy” this February, Rosé revealed that, while he’s focusing his creative attention on his out-of-drag music and stage career for now, he’s nowhere near leaving drag behind for good.

“I will never, ever quit drag,” Rosé told PRIDE in February. “As RuPaul says, ‘You’re born naked and the rest is drag.’ We’re all doing drag every day. My drag is just evolving! Who says that I can’t be completely puss with a mustache and chest full of hair?”

As to whether he’d return to “Drag Race” after his “Finding Neverland” appearance, Rosé revealed: “I will always be potentially available and interested for something like that. If it’s going to happen some time soon, then ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ needs to be ready to crown their first winner with a mustache. They can call me and we can have a discussion about that.”

“I will show up and win,” added the star.

Fans can catch Rosé (Ross McCorkell) in “Finding Neverland” at the OFC Creations Theatre Center from September 25 to October 19.
