E! News reported on August 6, 2025, that Chihuahua, Mexico native Yanin Campos was killed in a car accident in her home city. The talented cook competed on “Masterchef Mexico” in 2018.
E! says the Mexican Secretariat of Public Security told a local newspaper that the incident took place August 2, when Campos “suddenly collided with a parked vehicle” while driving in the city around 6:30 a.m. She was 38 years old.
Campos’s brother, Raúl Campos, confirmed her death on August 4 via a Facebook post. He wrote, “To family and friends. We inform and mourn the death of my sister Yanin Campos.” He also invited supporters to a wake at Hernández Funeral, which took place at noon the same day.
Campos had almost 80,000 followers on Instagram, and the comment section of her last post, which was uploaded in 2023, was flooded with thoughts and remembrances after her death.
Many fans wrote, “Descansa en paz,” which means “rest in peace” in Spanish.
Yanin Campos Became Popular On TikTok After ‘Masterchef’ Stint
In recent years, Campos had grown a significant following of almost 100,000 fans on TikTok. She often posted sweet videos with her pet cat.
In a now-haunting post uploaded back in January 2025, the reality star wrote that she doesn’t like looking at photos of herself as a young child because “I don’t know how to warn her everything that is going to happen.”
She said, “Still, there have been very nice things, and wonderful people that no doubt if things had been different they would not be in my life today.”
People says the creator was rushed to the hospital after the fatal crash, but could not be saved.
Yanin Campos Returned to ‘Masterchef’ In 2019
After coming in sixth on “Masterchef: Mexico” in 2018, Campos returned to TV for “MasterChef México: La Revancha” the following year.
The Sun says Campos previously trained as a nurse before pursuing her passion in food, and survived in the hospital for two days before succumbing to her injuries.
Three years prior to her death, she sat down for a lengthy interview Cada Quien Se Mundo.
Campos is not the only fondly remembered television chef to pass away this year. In June 2025, fans were devastated to learn that renowned Food Network chef Anne Burrell had passed away at her home in Brooklyn of cardiac arrest brought on by an apparent pill overdose.
