When a group of Utah content creators first banded together as “MomTok,” they likely didn’t expect to find themselves on one of the hottest reality shows on television. Hulu debuted “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” in September 2024, launching the group of young moms into living rooms across the country and beyond.
Less than two years after the series launched, a lot has already changed in the lives and relationships of the MomTok-ers. One example is Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen, who attempted to repair their relationship issues, especially after the birth of their son, Ever. However, according to Us Weekly, by the time Season 2 began airing in May 2025, they had already broken up for good.
Season 2 Was a Rough One for the ‘Mormon Wives’

Taylor Frankie Paul founded MomTok and has certainly brought her share of drama to the series, but she isn’t the only one who has been in the hot seat. Several of the other couples have found themselves to be the subject of some pretty awful rumors. Whitney Leavitt and her husband, Conner Leavitt actually left Utah for a while to deal with their issues, after he was caught on Tinder.
The parents of three young children decided to seek help to strengthen their marriage. “It takes time and it takes a lot of work. It was something I really had to sit down [and think] ‘Did I want to rebuild this trust?’ That doesn’t mean that things aren’t still triggering to me. When it is, then I’m going to work it out and just keep moving forward,” said Whitney, to Us Weekly.
Demi Engemann and her husband,, Bret Engemann were both accused of cheating on one another during season two. There is a 16-year age gap between the couple who have spent the last four years trying to conceive a child. When the rumors of infidelity began, Demi praised her husband to Us Weekly, saying, “He’s been nothing but supportive and nothing but understanding. He has been so sweet and just really sought to understand me and helped me in the best way that he possibly can. People are going to think what they’re going to think at the end of the day — you can’t control that. So we’re just focused on what we can control and focused on being communicative with each other, and we’re solid.”
The last couple in the hot seat is Jen Affleck and her husband, Zac Affleck. During the second season of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” it became clear that Zac was quite devout in his faith, which led to some harsh criticism of his wife. They separated for several months before working on all aspects of their marriage. Zac and Jen are still together, with baby number three due any day now.
Not All of the ‘Mormon Wives’ Are Dealing With Marital Drama
Mikayla Matthews and her husband, Jace Terry, have coasted through the last few years and are expecting another child this summer. Mayci Neeley and her husband, Jacob Neeley also seemed to fly below the radar. They too, are expecting a summer baby.
Jessi Ngatikaura and her husband Jordan Ngatikaura, have had some rumors of infidelity swirl around them, but they squashed those quickly and seem to be quite happy together. Layla Taylor joined the show as a divorced mom who is looking for her own version of happily-ever-after, and Miranda McWhorter joined the show in season 2 after her split from Chase McWhorter. Both ladies have navigated through the series pretty smoothly, so far.
