When the season premiered on May 18, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. ET on the Discovery Channel, there were 14 contestants ready to put their bushcraft to the test and outlast their competition. They were: Matt Wright, Laura Zerra, Jermaine Jackson, Max Djenohan, Ky Furneaux, Suzänne Zeta, Trish Bulinsky, Kaila Cumings, Trent Nielsen, Cheeny Plante, Jamie Frizzell, Kaiela Hobart, Darrin Reay, and Patrick French.
Reaching this point has been an interesting mix of eliminations, including several contestants choosing to tap out and end their “Naked and Afraid” journey. Audiences have also seen injuries requiring medical attention. This includes Laura being struck by a sapling and an incident involving hot coals. One person whose experience came to an end prematurely was Ky Furneaux. She was medically evacuated due to abdominal swelling. However, she is still invested in the show, even weighing in on Episode 3.
Fans will recall this episode was interesting because Laura encountered an “animal nest.” However, there is also a belief that what she stumbled upon was not made by an animal. Ky has since commented on whether it could have been a Yowie or a yeti.
‘Naked and Afraid: Last One Standing’ Latest Episode
The new episode of “Naked and Afraid: Last One Standing” will air on Sunday, June 29. It is titled, “Bringing the Heat and the Meat.” Going into tonight, there are some clear favorites that fans are rooting for.
On an Instagram post from June 23, fans reacted to the list of remaining contestants, specifically Cheeny, who chose to remain on the show despite fellow survivalists Laura Zerra, Suzänne Zeta, Trish Bulinsky, and Kaiela Hobart leaving. This move has endeared her to fans.
“Awesome that Cheeny followed her heart and went against the group mentality of the other women. Would love to see her finish top 3,” a comment reads. “I’m proud of Cheney for not listening and standing true to the game and herself. I would love for her to win but if not Matt, Max or Darrin,” another fan wrote.
