Whitney Rose Reveals Important Reason Why She Changed Her Hair Color to Red

Whitney Rose debuted a new hair look on “Watch What Happens Live.”

On the January 8 episode of the Bravo chat fest, “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star turned up wearing a sparkly silver mini dress and a new red hair color, a bold departure from her usual blonde locks.

During a “Work the Polls” segment, the audience was asked if they preferred Rose as a redhead or a blonde. Host Andy Cohen also asked her why she changed her hair color.

“To support my daughter who’s a redhead, and all other redhead teenagers who get bullied daily,” Rose replied. “I’m proving a point that when I say redheads are beautiful, I mean it.”

Poll results showed fans liked Rose as a blonde more than a redhead, but Cohen said, “They prefer you as a blonde but we love your reasoning.”

Rose and her husband, Justin, share a daughter Bobbie Rose, 14, who is known for her big smile and gorgeous red hair. They also have a son Brooks, 11, and Rose is also a stepmother to Austin, Christopher, and Trey, Justin’s three adult sons from his first marriage.

Whitney Rose’s glamorous red hair reveal sparked a big reaction from fans. Followers commented on Instagram, with some confusing her for former “Southern Charm”  star Kathryn Dennis.

“I love the hair colour, Whitney looks stunning,” one commenter wrote.

Whitney Rose Dyed Her Hair to Show Support in the Past

Rose has shown off several blonde hair looks over her five seasons on RHOSLC, but she most often rocks a blonde bob. In an interview with People magazine, Rose explained, “I don’t know what it is about the bob. I’ve always had a bob. I wore extensions for a little bit and just didn’t feel like myself.”

But the red hair is not the first time she has strayed from her usual platinum-blonde bob. In 2021, she temporarily dyed her hair pink in support of the Pride festival.

“I wasn’t able to come to most of the  Pride [festivities},” she told fans in an Instagram Live, per BravoTV.com. “As you can see I’m still in bed because I had surgery earlier in the week. So I dyed my hair pink instead, as my support, because I missed out on all of the fun and the parties!”
