Teresa Giudice Explains Why Fans Saw a Different Side of Her on New TV Show

Teresa Giudice said fans saw a new side of her on the reality show “House of Villains” because she wasn’t constantly in defense mode like she is on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”

In a December 2024 interview on the “Give Them Lala” podcast, the Bravo star addressed fans who questioned why she’s “one way on Housewives and then a different way on ‘House of Villains.’”

“The reason why I’m different is because everyone’s always coming for Teresa Giudice [on RHONJ]. That’s why,” she told host Lala Kent. “So, I’m always on the defense, trying to defend myself because everyone’s always trying to hurt me, and now, the person I love [Louie Ruelas].”

Giudice Said She Used to Be ‘House of Villains’ Teresa on RHONJ

While speaking with Kent, Giudice noted that she is around a different group of people and producers on “House of Villains,” which airs on E!

“I mean obviously if they watch [RHONJ]  season one and season two – because now don’t forget I’ve been on TV 17 years now—so if everybody would watch the show now and see and watch what actually happened, I mean I did season one, season two, it’s Teresa from ‘House of Villains’. Then you get season three, then all of a sudden, my family comes on the show, like, behind my back. Like this was my first cousin and my sister-in-law married to my brother that I was getting along with at the time.”

Giudice has long complained about her brother Joe Gorga and his wife Melissa allegedly joining RHONJ behind her back.

According to Reality Tea, at BravoCon 2023, Melissa Gorga claimed, “Teresa 100 percent knew, it was never behind her back.”

On Kent’s podcast, Giudice revealed that she stopped watching RHONJ when her brother and sister-in-law joined the cast. “I stopped watching it because if I would have watched it the wars that would have happened in our family, she said. “I think Bravo should thank me for not watching it, because if I would have watched it, we would have never continued!”

Teresa Giudice Said 1 ‘House of Villains’ Castmate Really ‘Got’ Her

While Giudice is estranged from several of her RHONJ co-stars, she revealed she is on friendly terms with almost everyone from “House of Villains.” In an interview with Parade magazine, she dished on her surprising friendship with former “Survivor” star Richard Hatch, who was also a contestant on “House of Villains.”

“I got along great with Richard,” the RHONJ OG shared. “I didn’t know I was going to get along so good with him. Me and him were always up early in the morning together so we would always talk. He kind of reminded me of my dad, it was so crazy.”

Giudice noted that Hatch was a Real Housewives fan. “He loved me because he watched all of the [Real Housewives], he watched New Jersey especially,” she said. “He knew my whole story and he loved me, so I loved how he understood me. He got me for who I was. “
