Sonja Morgan’s well-known Manhattan townhouse has entered a new chapter.
According to Page Six, the former “Real Housewives of New York City” star’s five-story residence on 63rd Street has been converted into a sober living facility operated by Release Recovery, a program focused on substance abuse and mental health treatment.
Sonja Morgan’s Townhouse Transformed For New Purpose
The elegant space, which was often showcased during Morgan’s more than a decade on Bravo, now serves as a place of healing. Release Recovery highlights its upscale accommodations, some of which may look familiar to fans who followed Morgan’s journey on the reality series from 2010 to 2021.
According to People, Morgan, 61, first listed the property in 2013 for just under $10 million. After renovations and several price adjustments, she sold the home in 2024 for $4.5 million. The townhouse, which she once shared with ex-husband John Adams Morgan until their 2006 split, has long been a recognizable piece of “RHONY” history.
When told about its new role by Page Six, Morgan responded in her signature playful style, texting: “Hhhhaaaa!” She added that she had believed the buyer planned to live there with his wife, noting her surprise at the development.
A Beloved Bravo Star Still Shining
Morgan became a household name during her time on “The Real Housewives of New York City,” where her wit, candor, and memorable one-liners made her a fan favorite.
After leaving The Real Housewives of New York City in 2021, Sonja Morgan has kept busy with a slate of new projects that continue to showcase her humor and charm. In July 2023, she reunited with co-star Luann de Lesseps for the Bravo spinoff “Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake.”
Morgan also returned to the Housewives universe in August 2024 as part of “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy.” The Peacock spinoff reunited her with fellow original cast members Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Dorinda Medley, Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, and Kristen Taekman. The group traveled to St. Barths, revisiting the infamous “pirate house” from season 5, delivering nostalgia and fresh drama for longtime fans.
Her “Sonja In Your City” variety show will take the stage at City Winery on Sept. 5, and she is also set to appear on “Celebrity Name That Tune” on Nov. 17.
Though no longer the owner of the 63rd Street townhouse, Morgan’s legacy is tied to the home, which now takes on a meaningful new role for those seeking support and recovery. Fans continue to celebrate her vibrant personality and career, while the townhouse itself serves a different but equally impactful purpose in New York City.
