‘RHOC’ Star Heather Dubrow Is Prioritizing Strength Over Looks

“The Real Housewives of Orange County” star Heather Dubrow is opening up about her shifting priorities when it comes to her physical appearance. “I think what’s most important to me is being strong,” she shared with Fox News.

Dubrow, 56, explained that in her younger years she was more focused on what she looked like, but as she gets older she wants to maintain her physical fitness.

“Now as I’m aging and going through menopause … I think about bone density, I think about muscle mass,” Dubrow revealed. “I think about all of those kinds of things because I want to be a fit mom.”

Dubrow said that a photo of a certain Oscar-winning actor inspired her to get healthier. “I remember seeing a picture of Goldie Hawn a few years ago and she had her granddaughter in a backpack,” she shared. “She was in her 70s … and I was like, ‘that’s what I want.'”

The mom of four expressed that she was no longer interested in chasing a youthful beauty ideal, and that staying healthy for her kids was taking precedence. “I’m not looking at pictures of the girls on the beach in the bikini thinking ‘ooh that’s a nice butt,'” Dubrow said.

“I’m going, ‘look at [Hawn] with her granddaughter on her back, and she is fit and she is moving and she’s flexible and she’s alive,'” Dubrow shared. “That’s what I want.”

Dubrow Keeps Cosmetic Procedures to a Minimum

Although Dubrow is married to successful plastic surgeon Dr. Terry Dubrow, she has not had a lot of work done. During a January Q&A on Instagram, the “RHOC” star revealed that she’d “definitely” gotten Botox but “No filler !!!”

But Dubrow isn’t ruling out having more cosmetic procedures in the future. When asked who had performed her facelift, which a fan had referred to as “amazing,” Dubrow responded, “Haven’t had one … yet.” In a 2023 Instagram story, she shared that she’d gotten a Potenza skin treatment done which is a form of microneedling that can regenerate collagen and elastin.

While Dubrow seems to be taking her husband’s advice about going easy on the plastic surgery, she does admit that her TV presence creates a challenge in terms of embracing her appearance. “I’m as vain as the next person,” she confessed on Fox News. “Being on high definition television at this age is not for the faint of heart.”
