Martha Stewart Responds to Reports She’s Joining the ‘Real Housewives’

Martha Stewart has addressed growing speculation about her potential involvement with “The Real Housewives of New York City” after reports emerged suggesting that Bravo producers were actively pursuing the lifestyle mogul for the reality series.

The 84-year-old entrepreneur found herself at the center of casting rumors as Andy Cohen reportedly works to revive the franchise, with sources indicating that producers had their sights set on Stewart as a potential addition to the show.

Casting Rumors Quickly Clarified

Recent reports indicated that Bravo was “heavily” casting for a new season of RHONY, with sources suggesting that producers had their sights set on Stewart as a potential addition to the cast. According to Page Six, an insider claimed that “Martha Stewart is in talks with Andy Cohen to become a New York housewife.”

However, Stewart’s longtime representative, Susan Magrino, swiftly ended the speculation with a definitive response. “Not Martha,” Magrino told the outlet, adding that “She says she is not a ‘Housewife.'” A Bravo representative also confirmed that the rumors were false.

This isn’t the first time Stewart has declined reality television opportunities from Cohen. During a previous appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” Cohen asked if she would consider appearing on The Golden Bachelorette for $10 million. Stewart’s response was an immediate “absolutely not,” explaining that “The guys aren’t hot enough.”

Stewart’s busy professional schedule likely plays a role in her decision to avoid reality television commitments. She recently launched her skincare line, Elm Biosciences, which includes products like a $135 antioxidant serum, keeping her focused on expanding her business empire rather than pursuing television opportunities.

Bravo Connections and Past Interactions

Despite declining to join the cast, Stewart does have existing connections to the Bravo universe through various appearances and interactions with current and former housewives. She has appeared multiple times on Cohen’s late-night talk show and has shared stories about her experiences with members of the “RHONY” cast.

One notable connection involves former “RHONY” star Luann de Lesseps and her ex-husband, Tom D’Agostino Jr. During a “Watch What Happens Live” appearance, Stewart revealed that D’Agostino had failed to return her favorite apple pie dish and had disrupted the décor of an apartment she once lived in when he converted it into a bachelor pad.

Stewart also has a well-documented relationship with former “RHONY” cast member Bethenny Frankel, dating back to when Frankel appeared as a runner-up on “The Apprentice: Martha Stewart” in 2005. The two have maintained what observers have characterized as a long-standing friendly rivalry over the years.

While Stewart won’t be joining the cast, speculation continues about other potential additions to “RHONY.” Current cast member Jessel Taank recently shared her thoughts with Page Six Radio about the possibility of “Summer House” stars Paige DeSorbo and Lindsay Hubbard joining the show.

“I’ve hung out with Paige, I’ve hung out with Lindsay separately,” Taank explained. “I think, to me, it would be so cool because they’re already very well known in the Bravoverse.” She added that both women have strong personalities and understand how reality television works, making them potentially interesting additions to the cast.

For now, fans will have to wait to see who actually joins the “RHONY” cast, but it definitely won’t be Stewart.
