Kathy Hilton Makes Surprising Comment About Kyle Richards’ Future With Mauricio Umansky

Kathy Hilton says she hasn’t ruled out the possibility that Kyle Richards could get back together with her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky.

During a December 2024 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” friend admitted there’s still the possibility that the separated couple could reconcile.

After host Andy Cohen asked Hilton, “Do you think there’s any chance that Kyle and Mau could get back together?” Hilton replied, “I always say ‘There’s always a chance.’”

“I say how I feel, and I like Mau,” she added. “And I wouldn’t say that if I didn’t. He can be charming [and] fun. We actually had a really nice time the last time I saw him,” she added, noting that she recently spent time with Umansky in Aspen.

Richards and Umansky were married for nearly 28 years when they announced their separation in July 2023.

The RHOBH OG has admitted that her friends and family aren’t always sure what to say when asked about her amicable relationship with Umansky. “I think people don’t know what to say when they’re asked that question,” Richards told Us Weekly in October. “He’s been out of the house a long time now, and we get along well and we’re always going to be family and very good friends. I think that people don’t know what to say. It’s still new for even my friends.”

Kyle Richards Refused to Answer a Question About Her Reconciling With Mauricio

During filming for RHOBH season 14, Richards shot a scene with Umansky shortly after he moved out of the family’s Encino, California home. In a confessional, she admitted she was taken back when Umansky purchased new furniture for a six-month condo lease. Richards added that his decision to move out would allow them “the time to assess where we’re at” and “maybe we’ll reconvene in six months and see what happens.” 

In another confessional clip posted by Bravo, Richards was asked if she had any hope for a reconciliation with Umansky. The RHOBH star paused then replied, “I don’t want to answer that question right now.”

In October 2024, Richards told Us Weekly she hadn’t thought about a reconciliation. “Right now, we’re just gonna leave it as is,” she said. 

Kyle Richards Is In No Rush to File for Divorce

In a November 2024 interview with E! News, Richards admitted she had not felt the “rush
“to file for divorce. “I think it’s been more of a psychological thing for us and for our family,” she explained. “We’ve been getting along and there was no pressure from either side that we needed to do that.”

“We don’t live together, we’re allowed to do whatever we want,” she added. “But we don’t want the rest of our life to change. We’re just okay the way things have been.”

Richards also explained her amicable split from Umansky in an interview with Extra TV. “He’s definitely one of my best friends and, you know, I feel very proud of the way we’ve navigated through this situation,” she told host Billy Bush.

“I mean we haven’t even gotten to [divorce] yet, but whatever, it’s not going to be any drama there,” she added. “There won’t be drama with us you know. We both care about each other very much and want the best for each other and support each other.”
