RHOBH Alum Comes to Kyle Richards’ Defense Amid Feud With Dorit Kemsley

“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Teddi Mellencamp came to her friend and former castmate Kyle Richards’ defense. 

During the December 2 episode of her podcast, “Two Ts In A Pod,” co-hosted by “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Tamra Judge, Mellencamp commented on Richards and Dorit Kemsley’s feud featured in RHOBH season 14.

Mellencamp, who left RHOBH after season 10, noted that Kemsley said she was upset that Richards minimized how close they were. Mellencamp said, however, Richards was not being dishonest about the nature their friendship. According to Mellencamp, Richards and Kemsley do not spend much time together outside of filming RHOBH. In addition, she suggested that she does not believe Kemsley has “ever really been there for Kyle,” especially after her 2023 separation from her now-estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky.

“You would think of all the times, last year was when Dorit would’ve been there for her,” said Mellencamp on her podcast. 

Mellencamp said, however, that she believes Kemsley and Richards do enjoy each other’s presence.

While recording a November 2024 episode of the “Bravo’s Hot Mic” podcast, Kemsley said she felt like she needed to confront Richards about their strained relationship in RHOBH season 14. According to Kemsley, she believed that Richards had pulled away from her. 

“There was a period of time I felt outside of her inner circle. It felt like our relationship was strained. And it wasn’t my choice,” said Kemsley on the podcast episode.

In RHOBH season 14, episode 3, Richards said one of the reasons she was unhappy with Kemsley was because she did not come to Mellencamp’s defense during the 2023 BravoCon. 

In a November 2024 interview on Access Hollywood’s “Housewives Nightcap,” Richards said she and Erika Jayne defended Mellencamp after an audience member suggested he was not fond of the RHOBH alum. Richards said that Kemsley chose to remain silent during the interaction.   

“That showed me more of [her] character here by not sticking up for our friend here in front of 7,000 people,” said Richards during the Access Hollywood interview. 

While speaking to Us Weekly in December 2024, Mellencamp reacted to being mentioned on RHOBH season 14. 

“I mean, I think that, of course, my name is going to be mentioned because they’re my friends. Whether they show it or not, that’s up to them. But I think those two have always had some ups and downs,” said Mellencamp to Us Weekly.  “I’m curious to see what will happen as the season continues.”
