Kyle Richards Reveals Sweet Role She Played in Daughter Alexia’s Engagement Day

Kyle Richards was not surprised by her daughter Alexia Umansky’s recent engagement – because she was part of the proposal process.

In a December 2024 interview with Parade, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star revealed that her daughter’s fiancé, Jake Zingerman, came to her for help before he popped the question.

“He asked my permission,” Richards told the outlet. “And then he had me help him through the process of picking the ring. And he was so cute, including me. I went with him to many different places to look, and it was just so sweet that he included me in that whole process.”

Richards previously teased her daughter’s future engagement during an Amazon Live in June 2024. At the time, she said, “[Alexia’s] not [engaged] yet but I do think that’s going to happen. I really do. They’ve been dating for four years, almost five years now. They are a very, very, very cute couple and they’re great together. And we just love him so much.”

In November 2024, Alexia Umansky, 28 shared photos to her Instagram stories after accepting her longtime love’s proposal. The happy couple smiled as they popped open bottles of champagne as they celebrated. Alexia also captioned a photo of her and her fiancé with “Forever.”

Richards reshared a series of Instagram photos that showed her daughter flashing her diamond ring.  “She said Yes!,” Richards captioned the post. “So happy for you both!! Jake, you have always been a part of our family but now it’s official! We love you guys so much!!”

Photos reposted by BravoTV.com gave a closer look at the ring. The inside of the emerald-cut diamond ring is engraved with the word “Sweetheart” and a small heart. Zingerman frequently calls Alexia “Sweetheart,” as seen in his Instagram posts.

Kyle Richards Is Thrilled to Soon Have a Son-in-Law

Alexia and Zingerman marked a major milestone in their relationship in early 2024. In January, Alexia revealed that she moved in with her Zingerman after more than four years of dating, according to BravoTV.com.

Months later, Richards told Parade she’s “excited” for the couple’s upcoming nuptials. “They’re definitely soulmates. They’ve been best friends since second or third grade and they’re just so sweet together,” she said of the newly engaged couple. “And I’m so grateful I’m going to have a son-in-law. I can’t believe it,” the RHOBH star added.

Richards hinted that wedding planning hasn’t quite started yet. She noted that she has been thinking about wedding venues for her daughter in either Los Angeles or Aspen, Colorado, where the family spends a lot of their downtime.
