Denise Richards Divorce: What She Posted While Separating From Husband Had Fans Cheering

Actress and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Denise Richards looked to have no cares in the world on July 4, 2025, posting an Instagram photo of herself in a patriotic bikini that drew over 30,000 likes and hundreds of compliments from fans.

“Red, white, and a little bit ooh la la,” Richards wrote, with fans celebrating her “body positivity” and how the actress, 54, has “transcended time.”

What they didn’t know, according to TMZ, was that Richards and her husband of nearly seven years, Aaron Phypers, 52, separated on the holiday. The outlet reported that he filed for divorce in Los Angeles on July 7, listing July 4 as their date of separation and citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The split will likely come as a shock to fans, given that the couple appeared on her spring 2025 Bravo reality show “Denise Richards & Her Wild Things,” and insisted they’d never get divorced.

Richards and Phypers got married in September 2018 after meeting in the summer of 2017 at his healing practice in California, where he performed “preventative DNA repair,” per People. She was previously married to actor Charlie Sheen, while he was previously married to actress Nicollette Sheridan.

According to TMZ, he now claims he has no income and is seeking spousal support from Richards. In divorce documents obtained by the outlet, he estimated that she makes over $250,000 per month from her OnlyFans account as well as TV, brand deals, and appearances.

He also estimated, per TMZ, that their average monthly expenses are $105,000. He detailed that they spend $20,000 on wardrobe, $18,000 for rent, $15,000 on eating out, $15,000 on unspecified entertainment, $10,000 on groceries, and $8,000 on utility bills, all paid by Richards.

In the court documents, TMZ reported, Phypers also asked that he be named the owner of the couple’s power tools, a 2018 Indian Dark Horse motorcycle, and a Ford Shelby GT500.

Denise Richards Said in the Spring She Wouldn’t Divorce Again

In a March episode of “Denise Richards & Her Wild Things,” she and Phypers said they would never get divorced, even if things got difficult between them, according to People.

“It’s not easy being married to me,” she admitted on the show, and Phypers responded, “It is not, and she said it! But this is it. I’m done.”

Richards then insisted, “Yeah, I’m never getting divorced again. Even if we hate each other, I’m not gonna [expletive] get divorced.”

Phypers then clarified, “We’ll just have different homes or something. But we’re not gonna hate each other.”
