RHOBH Alum Says She’s in a ‘Great Place’ After Bravo Exit

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Crystal Kung Minkoff spoke about leaving the Bravo series after its 13th season.

In a January 16 interview on “Gabbing With Gib,” alongside her “Humble Brag with Crystal and Cynthia” podcast co-host Cynthia Bailey, Minkoff spoke about her three years on RHOBH. She said she was initially “afraid to start the show” because she did not want to be labeled as a “Real Housewife” for her entire life. Minkoff said, however, she has now “really embraced it” as it “has been a launching pad” for other career opportunities.

She alsos said leaving the series ended up being a “blessing.”

“I’m such [sic] in a great place. This is exactly where I should be. So I’m happy,” said Minkoff during the interview.

Bailey agreed with her podcast co-host. She said she did not believe their podcast would have been as successful if Minkoff had stayed on RHOBH.

Crystal Kung Minkoff Said She ‘Was Happy’ After Her RHOBH Exit in December 2024

In a December 2024 episode of her podcast, “Humble Brag with Crystal and Cynthia,” Minkoff told her guest, “Real Housewives of New York City” alum Luann de Lesseps, that she ceased filming RHOBH after season 13. When de Lesseps asked if she “was happy” following her departure, Minkoff said, “Yeah, I am happy.” She said, however, that she thinks it would be “weird” to watch the show’s current 14th season.

After de Lesseps asked Minkoff why she did not return to the show, Minkoff replied that she “didn’t have enough of a storyline this year.”

Crystal Kung Minkoff Spoke About Exiting RHOBH in October 2024

Minkoff shared similar comments about her departure from RHOBH in an October 2024 episode of “Humble Brag with Crystal and Cynthia.” Minkoff said she “had dates to start” shooting RHOBH season 14 with her castmates.

She said before she began filming, production spoke to her about her season 14 storyline. Minkoff said that the storyline production suggested to her “was stretching the truth for [her].” Minkoff said she was not interested in “embellish[ing] [her] life in a way that felt unnatural.”

Minkoff then said she received a call from a producer to inform her she would not be filming RHOBH season 14.

“One of the producers called me. And just said like, ‘You were on yesterday. And then today it changed,’” said Minkoff on her podcast episode.

In addition, she said she believed producers wanted to focus on the show’s single cast members. Minkoff said she would have been “the black sheep” of RHOBH season 14, as she has been married to her husband, Rob Minkoff, since 2007.
