Anna Faris Considers Joining “The Real Housewives”

Comedy queen Anna Faris is known for playing funny characters in scripted films and television series. Could she now be going off script and doing reality TV? She wouldn’t ignore Andy Cohen if he called.

‘I Would Totally Take the Phone Call!’

Speaking with Us Weekly earlier this week, Faris, 48, wondered if she would really ever join the Bravosphere. “I was thinking the other day if I would make a good ‘Real Housewife’,” she said. “I don’t know if I would put on the whole pretense of ‘there’s no cameras.’ I don’t know.” She went on to compare being an actor versus being a personality: “The relief of what I do is the playing of a character… never acknowledging the camera… Like, I’m terrible at photoshoots. The idea of being one’s self… I don’t even know if I know exactly what that means because I feel like, fundamentally, I can be pretty quiet and reserved in my own skin.”

The actress, who rose to fame quickly with the spoof film “Scary Movie” 25 years ago, does think joining “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” would be her top pick if she had to choose. Maybe she could take over for Garcelle Beauvais? “They’re so advanced,” she praised. “That’s like going to graduate school when you’re a freshman.” In addition to that series, Faris stated she loves “all things Bravo,” like hit series “Below Deck,” plus “all dating shows, too.”

So far, no call from executive producer Andy Cohen though. “I would totally take the phone call, oh my god! He hasn’t courted me yet,” she said to Us Weekly with a laugh, but seems open to the conversation. This latest season of “Beverly Hills” unfortunately had some low ratings according to Collider, so perhaps Cohen and team should think outside the box with casting. Luckily, Faris is currently the hilarious face of Walmart’s new Express Delivery campaign for their prescription delivery service. Plus, she has new exciting things on the horizon, after her last prominent job was the CBS sitcom “Mom,” which wrapped up in 2020.

What’s Next For Faris On Screen

Faris tragically lost her home in the Los Angeles fires earlier this year, telling Us Weekly, “It’s surreal and has been tough, [but] we feel fortunate because we’re safe. I’m really grateful to be working.” One of the jobs she’s worked on recently is the new comedy film “Spa Weekend,” with fellow funny ladies Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher and Michelle Buteau. In March before the film wrapped, she stated, “I was thinking this morning how sad I’m going to be when this project is over because it’s been so incredible to work with these women under these circumstances. We’re all at this stage in life where we feel so appreciative of each other. We keep fantasizing about a sequel.”

According to her IMDB page, Faris will also be seen in the live-action/animated hybrid drama “I, Object” and will be a voice in “Toy Story 5,” which feels like a perfect fit. Plus, “Scary Movie 6” is officially happening, with a release date set for 2026, so hopefully Cindy Campbell will be back on screen with the Wayans brothers. We’re crossing our fingers for that announcement!
