Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes showed their team spirit off the football field this weekend, making a surprise appearance at Kansas City’s annual Big Slick Celebrity Weekend. The star-studded fundraiser, which benefits Children’s Mercy Hospital, brought out a host of famous faces — and raised an impressive $4.5 million for a great cause.
While Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, enjoyed a night out in New York City with Selena Gomez, Kelce kept things local with a boys’ night in Missouri alongside his brother, retired NFL star Jason Kelce and a gaggle of celebrities with ties to the City of Fountains.
Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes Pop Up at Big Slick
On Saturday, May 31, Travis Kelce, 35, and Mahomes, 29, joined celebrities with Kansas City ties for the Big Slick comedy show at the T-Mobile Center. The event, now in its 16th year, featured appearances by its celebrity founders Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, Eric Stonestreet, Rob Riggle, Heidi Gardner, and David Koechner — all of whom have deep roots in the region.
Jason Kelce, 37, also made an unforgettable entrance, walking onstage to George Thorogood’s “Bad to the Bone” as the crowd roared. Travis and Mahomes had entered together moments earlier, greeted by their celebrity friends on stage.
Throughout the night, clips circulated on social media of Travis catching and throwing footballs into the crowd, lifting Rudd playfully onstage, and jamming out with Jason. The tight end kept it casual in a black Palm Angels tracksuit and a Miracle Academy trucker hat.
The Kansas City Star reported that this year’s Big Slick event raised more than $4.5 million for Children’s Mercy Hospital, continuing its tradition of giving back to the local community.
Taylor Swift Celebrates Her Big Win With Selena Gomez
While Kelce was busy supporting Kansas City causes, Swift celebrated a major career milestone in New York. According to Page Six, the 14-time Grammy winner was photographed dining with Gomez at Midtown’s Monkey Bar on the same evening.
The dinner came just after Swift announced she had successfully purchased her masters, reclaiming the rights to her first six studio albums — “Taylor Swift,” “Fearless,” “Speak Now,” “Red,” “1989” and “Reputation.” The pop superstar reportedly spent $360 million to regain ownership of the music catalog, which had been at the center of a years-long public dispute involving record executive Scooter Braun.
Swift called the purchase her “greatest dream come true” in an emotional message to fans, adding, “I can’t thank you enough for helping to reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to, but have never owned until now.”
As always, Kelce showed support from afar — eagle-eyed fans noticed he liked Swift’s celebratory Instagram post, while Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, shared Swift’s announcement on her own Instagram story, calling it “just so amazing.”
