Tom Hardy Leads a Star-Studded Cast in Guy Ritchie’s Latest Mobland

Guy Ritchie is back in the director’s chair with “Mobland,” a gritty new crime series landing on Paramount+—and he’s bringing a high-caliber cast with him, led by none other than Tom Hardy.

Following the massive success of “The Gentlemen” on Netflix, Ritchie is returning to familiar territory: London’s criminal underbelly. “Mobland” centers on two rival British crime families whose ongoing turf war threatens to tear apart not only their empires—but their bloodlines.

Originally developed as a spinoff from Showtime’s “Ray Donovan,” Paramount’s “Mobland” evolved into a standalone project once Ritchie came on board.

His signature storytelling style is expected to give the series a sharp edge, and the cast alone has fans buzzing.

‘Mobland’s’ Murderer’s Row of Talent

At the heart of the show is Harry Da Souza, a street-smart fixer with a dark past, played by “Venom” and “Inception” star Tom Hardy. He’s recruited by crime lords Maeve and Conrad Harrigan, portrayed by Oscar-winner Helen Mirren and former 007 Pierce Brosnan.

Rounding out the Harrigan clan is Paddy Considine (“House of the Dragon“) as Kevin Harrigan, the ambitious heir to the family throne, and “Sherlock” alum Lara Pulver as his wife, Bella. Meanwhile, “Downton Abbey” star Joanne Froggatt plays Jan Da Souza, Harry’s equally shrewd wife. Geoff Bell brings extra menace as Richie, the hardened leader of the rival Stevenson gang, whose feud with the Harrigans turns bloody fast.

With its A-list cast and classic Ritchie flair—think sharp dialogue, double-crosses, and high-stakes power plays—”Mobland” promises to be one of the most anticipated crime dramas of the year.

From Mobland to MI6? Hardy’s Bond Rumors Resurface

Interestingly, “Mobland” marks a reunion of sorts for Hardy and Brosnan—at least in fan imagination. Back in 2018, Brosnan, who played James Bond in four films, publicly endorsed Hardy as a potential successor to the role. Speaking to Mail on Sunday, Brosnan said he believed Hardy had the grit and charisma to be a great Bond.

“Tom Hardy would be a good Bond. I’d be happy to see him do it. He’s got the chops, the physicality, the presence,” Brosnan said. “He’s very capable. And I think he’d put a proper twist on it.”

While those rumors have never been confirmed, fans have long speculated that Hardy could be the next man to don the tux and carry the Walther PPK.

Whether or not Hardy ends up as 007, he’s certainly flexing his espionage muscles in “Mobland.” And with Brosnan by his side, the comparisons are only heating up.

Mobland premieres March 30 on Paramount+, with new episodes airing weekly through June 1.
